Remarkable output from a pocket sized torch
Having had both full size and mini Maglites for years I was curious to see how bright the new LED version of the mini would be. But let's first go back a step... A couple of years ago I converted a full size [2-cell] Maglite from standard bulb to LED and was most impressed. Its brightness and beam were excellent and the battery life infinitely better. However the Mini Maglite is much more convenient to keep in the car, or in your pocket so I was keen to see how the new 281 lumens version would perform. I must be honest and say that I was very pleasantly surprised. The light intensity is superb and whilst the beam is not quite up to the full size torch it's remarkably good. In fact the new Mini Maglite LED is powerful enough to use when walking the dogs at night - far brighter than the old bulb version. Indoors, and under the car, the new torch is superb and infiinitly superior to similar sized far cheaper unbranded multiple LED torches I also own. There is no doubt that Maglite's as not cheap. But in common with many other high quality items you get what you pay for. They are beautifully made, reliable, tough, have a superb parts back-up - and will last a lifetime. Obviously the AA batteries in the Maglite Mini will not last as long as full size cells but, so far they are holding up well.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Amazing little torch why buy anything bigger?
Beautifully made torch! Very bright and the batteries last surprisingly well! I use mine for a night walk in the countryside when it is often 'pitch black' so without a good torch I would be ... I bought another one as a spare, instead of carrying extra batteries ... In the past I've had 6-cell Maglites but these are probably brighter and the batteries last so much longer! - Mind you not much use as a 'weapon'!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Been using this for a few days. Very bright and the dual purpose light levels are easy to set once you use the instructions. Point down and turn on for low power light and point forwards and on for high power. Build quality means this ought to last years. Keep the batteries out of it when not in use. Compact but bright.
