I feel like a crab that finally found its perfect shell. I never wanted to take it off. I will die in this most perfect shell.
I did several searches for a bag that would treat me well as an EDC. After seeing so many pleased reviewers and reading about the durability and comfort the bag offers for people with a lot of different things to carry. I had extremely high expectations for this bag, and my expectations were greatly surpassed. After years of riding around with a janky little entry-model Jansport and many uncomfortable items stabbing me in the back, I have finally found the ultimate peace. The back is firm but so flexible, and it is ridged to allow air flow on your back while riding and oh my goodness does it feel like heaven. Carrying around a battery charging pack, a bicycle pump, extra tube, bike tools and U-Lock, extra clothes, my work badges and pins, everything I need all in it’s right place. Once everything is in my bag I can then tighten down the bag onto itself so that things are not bouncing around loose on your back. This is so great for a frequent and heavy rider who deals with VERY poor roads and no bike lanes (country roads of northwest Fresno, CA). Everything stays secure and comfortable the entire time. I don’t have a laptop, as I’ve seen many people do, but I have on original Xbox One (its friggin huge) that I travel many miles by bicycle with. I also transport my Nintendo 64 with four of those awkward as hell controllers. If I wanted to I could fit all of it in the bag, but I typically only ride with one or the other and either feels just great. I ride around with cut off shirts in the summer and I have the ability to strap the two shoulder straps together and tighten them as I need to. This was perfect to allow me to keep the straps off of the skin of my shoulders and in the fabric of my shirt and then loosening it just enough that it wouldn’t be riding into my neck either. There is also a strap to tighten the lower part of the back around your waist, which is fantastic for me as my back is often horizontal to the ground and my bag can bounce quite a bit if I am into a heavy ride. The waist strap helps reduce and nearly completely eliminate that problem. When I finally got done trying out different load outs to carry (work/recreational/overnight) and riding around all day, I didn’t even want to take this thing off. It is the most comfortable bag I have ever tried and it offers solid support and straps to tighten it down to keep everything in place while still offering great flexibility. If you are looking for a new bag and want all of these things, this is the bag for you. I was almost laugh/smile/crying as I put the full bag on and off my shoulders.
