    Simple, secure, easily adjusted system.

Sturdy simplicity of operation and adjustment in the pedals and cleats. The pedals are not in any way "mountain bike" specific - they are perfectly suited to a road/ race bike. The pedals are two sided, both being the same, so you don't have to fuss with getting the correct side up. The tightness of the pedal grip, which really means how hard it is to get the shoe's cleat IN to the pedal (because once in the cleat will not ever casually pull out) is easily adjusted, independently on each side of the pedal, so if one side is more difficult to get in to, just back off its tightness screw a tad. (a 2mm or a 3mm. hex wrench, I think). The angle of the cleats on the shoe soles is easily adjusted, in case you have differences in how your feet and knees alighn and want a different shoe angle on each side. The cleats are made for any shoe that has the two parallel channels, not the 3 scew hole system. I have a couple pari of Specialized shoes with the correct "drilling" and the system is great. To get a shoe OUT of a pedal, you just vigorously turn your heel outward and the cleat instantly extracts from the pedal. Terrific system and... it is inexpensive! The package of pedals and cleats can be currently found for less than $55.

  • First Time User

This is my first set of clipless pedals. I chose Mountain Bike Style Clipless Pedals for my Gravel Bike me being a Mountain Biker. I like the fact that you can still walk normal on Mountain Bike Clipless shoes when your off the bike. I also like the feature that you don't have to flip the pedals to get locked in. Pedals came with the cleats so all you have to buy is the shoes. Build quality of the pedals is great and I can tell the pedals can take a beating.

  • Reliable go to classic

This earliest of the Shimano clip-less mountain pedals is still a reliable go to for both classic rebuilds and current rides (unless of course you use flats!) A timeless classic and one of my favorites, also easy to service with the proper Shimano pedal tool.

  • Tried and True Pedals

Tried and true. These are so dependable. I know that they're called "MTB" pedals, but I use them on my gravel bike and now just got a pair for my road bike. I'm not concerned with weight (these are heavier than your standard road bike pedals), but I am a stickler for reliability. Love these!

  • 1st time clipless rider

i'm pushing 59 years of age and bought these for my 30+ year old trek road bike which had toe clips and straps. I was a little nervous at first, but that lasted for about the first 2 minutes on my 50 mile ride today. I have them set to the weakest position and had no trouble getting in or out of them. highly recommend and will probably buy a pair for my mountain bike and maybe for my fat bike too.

  • Love my new Shimano PD-M520-L pedals.

The Shimano PD-M520-L pedals replaced my aging Speedplay Frog pedals. The Shimano pedals don't have as much float as the Frogs, but they are adjustable for clip-in and release pressure. After using the pedals a few times, I'm happy I bought them and recommend them. I would buy again from this seller.

  • Excellent pedals!

Wow! These are great pedals, just clip and go with no issues so far. I always used crank Bros. Candy pedals , but switched to these on my new mountain bike and like them much better than the Candy's.
