The Boss OS-2 is a guitar effect pedal capable of producing overdrive and distortion sounds, giving you a choice of both hard distortion sounds and smooth overdrive tones for rhythm playing. You can even integrate the overdrive and distortion effects, which gives you more options than serially connected units. The Asymmetrical Overdrive Circuit incorporated in the Boss OS-2 unit gives you sound similar to a large scale tube amp. Designed to give you hard and fantastic distortion, this guitar effect pedal also maintains the nuances of single-coil pick-ups. The Boss OS-2 offers you plenty of tweaking ability for precise tonal shaping with its level, tone, drive and color controls.

Boss OS2
I have used a few pedals and thought I would give this OS2 a try. You can adjust the distortion from non to very gritty. Yes I know that you can do that with most pedals, but what separates this one from the rest is the color knob which even gives my practice squire that rich tube amp sound . Yes boss did it again.

Great pedal, my friend had one of these on the 80's, and i alway liked the tone, well nowadays i have a blues driver and a metal zone, but i needed an inbetween sound so i could stage them, so this os-2 works great, it has overdrive and saturation, that fits great inbetween my blues driver, (overdrive) and my metal zone.(saturation).

Great price for a very good sounding pedal
This pedal has very versatile settings with an amazing sound. I have a BC Rich Kerry King signature series guitar and a cheap little amp. The pedal is built to last and take some abuse sounds good with battery or plugged in. The distortion rocks and overdrive is clean with many different sounds by adjusting the different knobs. I would recommend anyone who wants a good distortion pedal to try this out before you purchase any other pedal

Takes some time, but it works!
I bought this item because I had a noisy squeal in my OS-2, so instead of buying a new one, I took a chance and used this mod kit. It worked, it took me 7 hours to carefully solder out the old parts and get the new ones in, but in the end, the result is great. The pedal sounds stronger, warmer, and the squeal went away! This pedal has never sounded better.

I like the sound and the adjustable setting of this pedal. You can tune the sound you want with this pedal. Capable of more different distorted sounds than most pedals. Boss has always made very reliable pedals.

Boss is Boss!!
I own two of these pedalboards. For what I use them for they are excellent. I am able to use them with different brands of pedals not Boss only. The power chain is user friendly and I've had no problems with them whatsoever.
