Sleeper pedal alert
I was surprised how much I liked this overdrive pedal, considering its cost and the complete lack of buzz surrounding it. It’s not a screamer, not a Bluesbreaker, not a Zendrive, - it has its own character. It has a fair amount of gain and volume on tap, and sounds great in front of an amp on the verge of breakup. I would have given it five stars, but it’s very bright with the tone control over halfway unless you have a very dark-sounding guitar. (My preferred tone setting is 9 o’clock.) I was prepared to not like it, but this pedal won me over - for now. :-). Try one - you might find the overdrive sound you’re looking for.

As others say….a VERY overlooked OD pedal!
I’ve had so many different overdrives. Klon variants, Tube Screamers, Timmy, OCD etc. The Boss BD-2 and SD-1. This OD-3 is exactly what I was looking for. To me it’s actually “transparent” where as others which have been touted as transparent never really got me what I was looking for. It’s got nice crunch. It does break up pretty quickly though, so I wouldn’t recommend it as a clean boost or a mild overdrive necessarily.

Great, pure OD
The OD-3 is a great pedal. It gets oh-so-close to the tone of a clean tube amp turned way up so that the power tubes are clipping. Except with the Boss OD-3, you don't have to risk your ears bleeding to get there. Great for anything, especially Blues. There are a lot of "Blues Drive" style of pedals out there. The OD-3 has the range and quality to give me the combination of harmonics, grit and sustain that I'm looking for when I want the tone of a non-master-volume tube amp, pushed to break-up tone. I like the sounds my single-coil pickup guitar can make using this pedal.

Perfect companion to an Ibanez TS9
It's a great pedal with great presence and colorful tone, but it's a bit dry even with the gain all the way up. Pair it with a TS9 in front of it and you'll have a much smoother attack and added crunch.

This is called the Nashville OD pedal, after playing in front of my Marshall JCM800 2204, I understand why it's called that, it's very useable tones are warm with a Velvet OD Tone, great pedal at a great price, no question

Don’t waste your money on boutique pedals, buy this!
