Very Pleased
I'm new to metal detecting, so I did a lot of research for the right metal detector for me and this Garrett model was a great value and best that I found for a beginner. Its great for the beginner metal detector, but has a lot of the features that Garrett's advanced and more expensive models have. It was easy to assemble even without reading the directions...pretty self explanatory....Very easy to use and operate. It just takes a little practice to recognize what audible tones go with what grade of treasure that you locate. Very pleased with this unit...I found lots of coinage my first time out treasure hunting. I don't really have any bad thing to say about this unit.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Searching for value
Very simple to use unit that is quite accurate in identifying the object being detected. My only issue was I bought this unit specifically because I was going to be vacationing by the ocean beaches &, it was advertised as being good for detecting in shallow salt water but, I had a hard time keeping the unit from constantly sounding on plain wet sand & really needed to back down the unit's sensitivity to stop it from constantly sounding which in effect limited effectiveness & depth of detection. Granted I'm am amateur, but this was advertised for people like me & I was very disappointed in how it performed in wet salt water sand which was just what I needed it to do well! However, I am sure if I had more time I would have learned some more techniques on how to deal with the wet sand false alert issues. good unit for the price
Only took a couple of days to get here. The video that came with the unit is outstanding. It told me everything I needed to know to get started. Better then my Whites Detector!
I have to say that this detector is amazing and let me start by adding that I am in no way affiliated with Garrett or any sales in any way shape or form. I just bought a product that really blew my expectations out of the water. I also use a Whites prism 3 which has a lot of bells and whistles and cost a $100.00 more when new then the Ace350 and the Whites can't even compete with the Ace350. This a day with the Whites, I'm walking around my trashy soiled yard and I hear pinging all over the place even over what seems like tree roots. I dig what shows as a quarter or silver and still I dig up IRON. This was my first day with my Garrett Ace350, I take it out of the box, I put it all together, I turn it on , I step out my door and within my second step I get a bell sound showing 8+ inches deep for a penny/quarter I dig 8 inches still nothing, 10 inches still nothing, I almost give up but I really want to have faith in my new detector so 15 inches down I find it, a single penny. Only a 1969 but it was what the Garrett said it would be, a penny at 15 INCHES DEEP!!! My 11 year old stuck his leg down the whole till his knee cap was gone. Amazing detector for only $300.00 and it discriminates flawlessly. I was getting coin signals in my yard on spots I already tried my Whites on and 5 out of 6 locations all dug up coins as stated on the display. But I still can't get over how deep the first penny I found was and the signal was solid. All I can say is WOW! Definitely don't hesitate to buy a Garrett product. The only negative things I can say about the Ace350 detector is it is a little heavier then most but not by much and sometimes when I'm pinpointing a spot the pinpoint function delays but only for a second but can be annoying when trying to get right to the digging.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The ACE 350 is a good quality detector with great features. My last Garrett lasted 20 years. I have a lot of fun with my detector. The ACE 350 can detect with the best of detectors. The ACE has more features than my last one and it is easy to use. The ACE 350 is lite weight and does not fatigue my arms and shoulders when used for long days of hunting. I love it. My first metal detector
I am greatly enjoying my Garrett metal detector. I did not want to buy a cheaper model, and then upgrade later, so I bought the 350. I am so glad I did. It is very user friendly. A friend of mine bought the same model at the same time, and we go to sites together. Metal detecting is fun alone, but much more enjoyable with a friend. Detecting alone can cause one to get discouraged more quickly due to large amounts of trash hits. So, if you are thinking about purchasing your first detector, I highly recommend this model.
