    Great wee unit!

This is a great buy for the hobbyist. I used this for a year or two then upgraded to the Hakko. If I’m honest the Hakko only really shows its superiority when I’m doing bigger stuff that needs some extra grunt. I use this units hot air often and the iron as a 2nd iron along side my Hakko and am very happy with it. One thing I will say is get the genuine Hakko tips for the copy iron and you’ll notice a massive difference in the capability of this iron. I would highly recommend this unit.

    At least looks good

Looking for a rework station for quite a while and found this one. Wish I'd never bothered. One leg missing out of the box so would wobble every time you touched it. Unfortunately I couldn't even get that far as the power lead wouldn't even fit the unit properly so couldn't even turn it on. Obviously fired through a conveyer belt in China with no quality control whatsoever. Now I have to send it back, wait for my money to try again to find a unit I can at least use. Totally avoid this one.

  • Nice, neat unit, for my occasional needs.

Needed a decent occasional unit for fine work, small footprint, easy to use and reliable. Seems to fit the bill just fine. I'm no expert in electronic re-flow, DIP soldering but, for the price it feels excellent and I can add tip accessories as required. I can't give it an excellent rating because I am not an expert in this field.

  • Awesome for hobby repairs, and learning micro soldering

Good enough temperature holding soldering iron. The hot air gun is not as amazing because air flow is not as strong as I used to work on, but good enough for desoldering components. I like its blue design and professional looking blue displays :) And as fantastic gift as can of flux was cute :)

  • Great value for the money

Compact, sleek and nice design. Good grip on the soldering iron and fast warm-up time. The only "low-cost" desoldering hot-air station (I have seen) which has detachable cable to the gun. Decent build-quality.

  • Best buy, great performance for the value

Excellent warming-up speed for both the soldering iron and the heatgun, almost no overshoot, correct readouts of temperature, automatic cooling-down and many more useful features.

  • Never tried expensive ones, but this soldering station works very well for me and even more. I’m not a professional and bought this station to do some

Never tried expensive ones, but this soldering station works very well for me and even more. I’m not a professional and bought this station to do some job what was priced 100 pounds ( to solder laptop power to motherboard socket) and it worked very well. The soldering station was shipped fast . Packed safely. And working like a charm. Thank you very much!

  • A great product at a sensible price.

I am a light user have only used a couple of times, the iron heats up quickly as does the air gun, good selection of tips and nozzles included. The iron stand is sturdy and the hot air gun fits well in the holder. hot air gun runs a cooling cycle when placed on holder so ensure the unit has plenty of clearance at the rear so the heat dosent damage something. Controls are easy set and use and the displays are clear. Connectors for iron and heat gun are different so you cant mix them up. Cables to iron and gun are nice, flexible and are of sensible length. With the short heatup time on the iron I wish it would "standby" like the air gun does when placed back in holder. A great product at a reasonable price.

  • Excellent

Looking for a product like this the Katsu is the one I finally opted for. I paid £41 delivered and to be honest I couldn't want for more. The heat up time is superb as is the control of both iron and hot air gun. It looks good, feels good and is reassuringly substantial. When I see what look like similar items at far, far higher prices I can't actually imagine what they offer that warrants the price. For me, this product is highly recommended and I think I will purchase another one.

  • Compact, readily available and easy to use.

I have been using soldering irons all my life - since the age of about 8. I am now 76! The first iron I used had a 25mm bit!!!! I have used many different types of iron and solder gun. The solder gun having the benefit of quick heat up, but a disadvantage of a large tip. Because of the large tip I used to use both a solder gun and a fine tip thermostatically controlled iron. This worked for years until I got back into private design and development work. I noticed the KATSU solder station and decided to give it a try. Fantastic result. The iron heats up very quickly and I no longer need the solder gun. There is a variety of tips for the iron (which are easily interchanged on a cold iron) and this has speeded up my work. The iron has even assisted me in desoldering components with one of the large thin tips. So, in summary, I am delighted, have the unit sitting at the side of my (at present) cramped work bench, but readily accessible and almost always in use. I have not needed to use the hot air gun yet, since the iron has been very effective at desoldering those parts which I have had to do. But it does work and it is nice to know it is readily available when required. I have read other comments about the lack of an on/off switch. Whilst this would be a useful facilty (and if I really needed one I could readily install one) I find it quite easy to use the switch on the dedicated power socket feeding the solder station to isolate the power.
