This technology intelligently increases contrast in different zones of the picture, creating the optimum display of whatever you are watching. The 4K resolution, which is 4x greater than the older 1080p standard, will display 4K content with crystal clarity. With UHD Upscaling, this device will upgrade non-4K content to near ultra-high-definition quality on TVs. See up to 64x greater color expression than Full HD with nano-crystal technology, which enhances the LED backlight. This increases the spectrum of colors being displayed. The JS8500 also has a 240 Hz Clear Motion Rate, which will keep images sharp during sporting events, animation, and action movies. A new feature with this series of Samsung televisions is the Peak Illuminator Pro technology. This brings detail into the darkest areas of an image and brightens the white tones. Measuring only 1.2-inch thick, this SUHD television is ideal for wall mounting. You’ll need a 400mm by 400mm mount for the TV. If you want to set it on a surface, the unit comes with a 5-pound, 33-inch slick stand that will not detract from the picture. For connectivity, this Samsung Smart TV unit has Wi-Fi built in for use with Bluetooth. It also comes with a One Connect Box, which is an external port device. It has four HDMI ports, three USB ports, a digital audio output, and a coaxial input, and it hooks up to your television via a single cable. This device makes it easier to hook up mobile devices, like laptops and tablets. No need to move the TVs around in order to access the ports. Great product and a good bundle
Since both the TV and Blue-Ray player are made by the same company the interface seemlessly together. Often I forget which controller that I'm using, the TV controller or the Blue-Ray controller. Out of the box they were easy to setup. The only catch was that there was some difficulty in getting the TV to sync with the TV. It wouldn't do it automatically and if you were too far away it would get confused. Once that issue was cleared up it worked perfectly. The motion sensing remote is a great feature. I've played with the TV calibration settings and the picture only gets better the more that I tweak them. I have the color levels set perfectly (Black Tone set to very high is a must). I'm having some difficult in getting the white levels set perfectly, but I'm sure that I'll get them right with time.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This TV is fantastic. Very responsive, the remote is cool with some extra nifty features I didn't even know about, the 3D is beautiful, and the upscaling of 1080p content is excellent. I would buy this TV again and again. I haven't had the opportunity to test out true 4K content or HDR content, but I'm sure they're great. The bezel is actual metal, and it makes it look even more premium. The only thing that could be improved upon are the black levels. Of course it's nowhere near OLED levels, but the blacks just don't get very black. It's not distracting or anything, but I'm picky. Also, I didn't really see this anywhere in reviews, but the TV itself is actually good for gaming so far. I haven't run into anything odd whilst gaming on my Xbox One or PS4. Unbelievable TV!
Great TV. The picture is amazing and the 3D is definately worth it...especially for family movie night. My last TV was 10 years old so the JS8500 was quit a leap forward. I spent months researching TV's and this one was hands down number one consistently. I had originally wanted passive 3D but the active 3D is unbelievable and has worked flawlessly and so has the 4k. Beautiful picture, still laggy UI
1. UI is slow sometimes and user experience could be better, some things could be done in more logical way. 2. Visible backlight on black screen (from some corners) 3. TV stand is ugly. There are many small things I'm not sure related to apps or TV itself.
