Whilst always admiring Martin Shaw as an actor had mixed feelings over this series; my rarely watching it due to differing reviews, was pleasantly surprised. Gently & Bacchus have to be the perfect partnership in this crime series which is absolutely amazing value in this box set collection. Every episode ever aired on terrestrial tv is featured !. Lee Inglewood is a joy to watch as the cocky, but clever sidekick to Martin Shaw's world weary , but highly experienced Inspector George Gently. Lisa McGrillis joins the duo and gives a refreshingly additional edge to the proceedings. Production values are high and the character choices are spot on .
