Perfect replacement
We accidentally smashed an old cast iron drain cover in our garden. Despite that one being Imperial size and this one metric, the plastic frame fitted snugly inside the old iron frame, so no need to hack the old frame out. Bedded the new frame onto the old frame with a little concrete, dropped the lid on and job done! Really excellent product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Quality cover
This cover has a radius on its corners not sharp corners as most older manholes covers had . So if you wanted to just replace an older cover it will not fit without replacing frame , also I wanted it for a cesspool cover the plastic frame would not stand up to the wear and tear of pipes being dragged out after emptying but I managed to swap covers around I bought the 5 ton one which is a good product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Quite the bargain!
Surprising quality at the price. Replaced a rotten old cover 24.25" by 18.5" an absolute treat. Installed it the existing somewhat corroded frame. I will eventually use the supplied plastic frame once the old steel/iron one fails completely. Tested by jumping on it as hard as I could (110kgs +) didn't even feel it deflect! Glad to find this manhole cover which was the nearest in size to our manhole, over a brick-lined rainwater water tank dug about 75 years ago in the garden. Nice cover and surround.
Fully meets the requirements I had for a cover in a pathway, it does flex when you stand on it, so I wouldn't use it on a Driveway, but on a path, great. The hard plastic surround supplied is nice and solid and held its shape well while fitting, far better than some I have seen. Will be getting another one soon as I have a second 1970's manhole cover to replace.

PC6BG 5tonne drain cover: best for pathways
This drain cover is rated at 5 tonne static load so it will take the weight of a pedestrian with minimum flex. When compared to the alternative 2.5 tonne version that flexes noticeably when stood on, because is made of thinner steel and hence is a few pounds cheaper. The real cost is time and money fitting it, so in my view it's worth paying the little extra to get the 5 tonne PC6BG fitted, job done!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
