Innovative, fine quality product
This is a unique desk chair mat that works very well for vinyl, tile, or other hard surfaces. I bought it because the top layer of my vinyl was separating underneath the desk chair. I wanted to protect my kitchen vinyl floor from further damage and yet wanted the lovely floor to continue to show through. Because this chair mat is glass, it is perfect for allowing the floor to show through without a huge visual distraction. This desk chair mat is only available in an oblong/square shape, so I custom designed a plexiglass extension for underneath the desk. Also, as my application is in the kitchen near an exterior door, I was concerned that someone would come in with wet feet and slip as they crossed it, so I applied 30-40 clear, round, self-stick rubber bumpers to the exposed area to give it more grip and prevent an accidental fall. The chair rolls without resistance so one needs to take care to be seated firmly. Like Corningware glass and Correlle dishes, this strong, tempered Lorrelle glass supports up to 1,000 lbs, so there is no danger of its breaking. I would highly recommend this fine quality product!
