Great value wheel
I spent a long time researching wheels and, for the money, this was the only wheel with any decent reviews. It's big enough for my female Syrian and sturdy as a stand-alone. I have 2 of these wheels and don't have either mounted on the bars as I think my bars are too flimsy for the weight! The first wheel developed a squeak after a few weeks which then became a very noisy rattle. Oil only helped a bit and I realised that something was needed to cushion the gap at the back if the wheel where it is attached to the stand. After a bit of experimentation, I wrapped a pipe cleaner round the metal shaft that the wheel sits on to stop the wheel rattling against the stand and it became almost silent again! So far wheel 2 has not needed this adaptation! I mention it as the biggest complaint in reviews about the wheel is that it becomes noisy and this us an easy fix! My Syrian spends at least 3 hrs on each wheel every night as I have one in her cage and another in a fish tank she goes out to play in -and they keep her sane. Prior to having the wheels she was hell-bent on escaping all the time! They are big enough to help avoid back problems -I have the 28cm one -but I did have to buy a bigger cage to accommodate it! my hamster loves it, its alot better for his back, down side it isn't as quiet as the last wheel it is quiet noisey and if your attaching it to your hamster cage be sure to use a wire to help keep it in place otherwise it slides down the cage. he now has the choice of two different size wheels in his cage to run his little heart out.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Happy Hamster
We bought the wheel as our hamster, despite having a good size cage, didn't seem to be getting enough exercise and seemed stressed. She has grown into quite a big Syrian so can no longer use the fly wheel we have, but she loves this Trixie wheel. The best
The 28cm wheel is the perfect size for a Syrian hamster. You can’t buy this size in pet stores and this is where we are lead to believe these shops have correct size cages , houses and wheels for our precious babies , which they do not . Bear got on his wheel straight away. He didn’t seem to mind that it was slightly enclosed. Bless him though he was huffing and puffing for the first hour with the weight difference of getting the thing moving haha. He’s not the biggest Syrian boy I’ve had and it takes some effort to get this one going at first as they are used to such small weightless rubbish usually. It’s a great size, almost completely silent. I can only hear his treats wizzing around on it with him that he likes to take on there with him. It’s the best wheel I have ever come across. So happy with my product, I got a different colour to the one in the picture, mine was black which is actually better for me than a green one! Just would be nice if you could make a request for what colour otherwise you don't know what you're going to get which could put others off buying because they're not guaranteed a certain colour! But overall product is of good quality and will do my degus proud x
