Great lava
It’s rock what can I say , but better rock than other lesser brands. Good selection of sizes to fill the basket on my Outback, recommended. You need a box per basket / burner though as 3kg is not in reality all that much rock... buy with confidence.,Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Lava Rock in Gas BBQ
When you buy a traditional Gass BBQ you don't get Lava Rock - just Metal plates that get very hot to cook, often causing fire to flare up. I cut up an old BBQ rack and place between the Metal plates. Then add a Box of this Lava Rock. This is excellent for spreading the heat evenly and stops flare ups. You can also cook very gently, so enjoying time with your guests. Have been buyng for years as they get a bit worn out after about 3 years. Excellent Product!!

Great productand a fair price.
Wanted to convert 1/3rd of my grill to rocks. Got the basket, removed the flame covers and installed the basket. The lava rocks were a good mix of types of lava. For those who are giving negative reviews, do try and understand what lava is ! It is an igneous rock which appears in many forms from aerated through to solid basalt. Therefore you will get a mix and the hard rocks are not 'stones' they are still lava ;-)

Wish I'd found these earlier.
This product is for all intents and purposes exactlty the same as the 'rocks' it replaced. I wish I'd found them earlier as in the past I've taken ages cleaning them outside using a garden blow torch, burning off the grease. Although it says they're for gas BBQ's ours is an electric one in the kitchen where the rocks are under the heating element and they work perfectly and there's enough left to replace them probably twice more!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

These replacement lava rocks are amazing. I’d hate to think about how long I have had and used the old ones, they really needed changing and I couldn’t buy them anywhere locally, so choose to get them online. I didn’t know what quantity to order, so chose 2 packs of 3kg. They arrived earlier than expected, which was great and when I got to put them on, all I used was just one box, so I have a replacement for future use.
