Landline problems
This unit saved me the £85.00 TalkTalk engineers fee. The landline as playing up so I removed the front plate from my master box, undo the two visible screes, removed the line and the plate and replaced the line directly into the unit, without the plate. Fixed! Left the cable in place until this unit arrived, not recommended if you have pets or small children. Removed the line and screwed a new face plate back and re plugged the line, problem fixed and £85.00 engineers fee saved, minus the cost of the spare. I did buy two just in case. I suspect because the box was attached to the skirting board by the front door, it may have been a damp issue.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A bit of a fiddle
Needed a new faceplate but didn't want to remove the back box - it's both illegal and a hassle. Unfortunately the two fixing screws supplied with the new kit had a different thread from the originals, and the originals were additionally a bit too long. Good value and simple to fit
Just scraped five stars! My only criticism was the instructions were a bit brief. I would strongly recommend taking a photo or two of your wiring once you are inside the box, to make absolutely sure you connect the right wires to the right terminals in the new box. Also, leave the existing patress (the square box that's screwed to the wall) in place and you'll probably find the screws from the new kit will fit it, or use the old ones.
