TDS 3 Water Quality Tester
The time method of telling when a water quality filter needs to be replaced in a filter jug is a bit hit-and-miss. An electronic tester is a lot better, as it provides confidence about what is happening. I only drink water in the form of tea or coffee, but have not noticed any difference in the taste since using the filter jug. Good entry-level pen
Really good - this is my first TDS pen, but it seems to always return steady readings - the temperature test takes a white to settle to final (takes about a minute maybe). I leave the top off mostly in a drawer so probes aren't left soaking in water in lid. If I misplaced or broke this item I wouldn't hesitate to buy another again to replace it. Until I bought this, apart from testing nitrate/ph level in my aquarium etc., I really had no idea what the water quality was...I think TDS reading is a good indicator of overall water quality & could be a helpful indicator when water changes are required. Although you must be aware that anything you add to the water including fluid for plants/medication or tap-safe products etc. will alter the TDS readings...Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Brilliant kit, cheap and it works
This is a slightly improved TDS-3 from the one I bought myself previously, it now features the Celsius & Fahrenheit temperatures with a decimal place, my older one, still working, only showed whole temperature numbers. I use these to check the salt content of swimming pools using the salt to chlorine electrolysers. It's the only useful way of measuring salt density, as I've tried using traditional floating density type sensors, and they are hopeless at the low levels of salt (5% - 500ppm) that is needed in the pools. These are dirt cheap, compared to the ridiculous prices you see in the dedicated pool shops in France.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Excellent TDS meter at a very reasonable price. Temperature feature is a real bonus. The only down side is you end up testing any water like a mad person as if you are some kind of expert annoying everyone with readings from the tap and bottled water. Or that's maybe just me!
