My Magic Boxes
This is a replacement item for one I bought 6years ago it is in daily use, all my vegetables ,fresh or frozen, are cooked in this " magic box" in the microwave they steam really well and the boxes are easier to wash than saucepans. I now use the old ones in the fridge to store fruit & veg. The side clips are not positive-and make it difficult to keep lid on. Whilst the center piece for extraction is a good idea, nevertheless it cuts back considerably on the quantity of food you can put in the basket. A very handy microwave steamer. Value for money-? Ideal for quick healthy steaming of veg. A fraction of the time and all in one pot. Bought it to use in our caravan microwave for easy cooking of proper meals with minimal washing up. These steamers are an excellent way of cooking your veg. - very quick (much quicker than in a saucepan on the stove) and keep all the goodness in the veg. Very easy to clean, I can't think of any downsides to these steamers - unless you don't have a microwave I suppose! The most amazing product! Don't know how I ever got along without it. Cooks rice perfectly in 25 minutes on 700 Watt setting. Simply place the strainer, pour the rice on the strainer, keep filling with water until the rice is well covered, add salt and cook. No more waiting for pots to boil on the stove or any need to watch that food do not overcook or boil over. I cook all my vegetables in it too! Vegetables cooks in about 15 minutes. You can even bake a cake in it. Lightweight, easy to clean. Be careful when choosing a size, the actual surface on which you can place food to cook on the strainer is smaller than the products size.
