Taking a step back in time. Tried and tested vs modern tech.
I am very pleased with this purchase, although refurbished, looks almost new, there is some slight scuffing on the base of the machine, barely noticeable, all other visible parts look shiny and new. The machine was easy to assemble, instruction leaflet included. It is very quiet when in use, easy to handle and not too heavy to carry up stairs. The machine has a nice long cable, upholstery and extension tools are also included. My reason for purchasing a corded machine, for the past three years I have used a cordless machine, which is great, apart from one major drawback, the battery lasts approx. 1yr - 18 months before giving up completely and they are very expensive to replace, as are other components such as filters etc., so hence my decision to return to a corded machine, having to rely on ones pension, care is needed with income. I choose Dyson simply because I have always preferred this manufacturer, their machines are reliable, give years of good service and do an extremely good job keeping carpets and floors clean.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Great suction power but rather quirky design
Suction is great which is the major plus point that recommends this machine. However, some crude and poor design features would make me think twice. These are - 1) flimsy plastic link mechanism to open bin 2) hooks for holding cable seem flimsy 3) the wand is more awkward than we remember it being on early models.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Great little vacuum
I am very pleased with my new vacuum cleaner as it is much easier to manoeuvre than my old ball Dyson due to the larger ball on the front, has a very long lead, is much quieter than my last Dyson and lighter weight too. It does a very good job of cleaning my carpets and it's easy to empty the canister. It's supposed to be refurbished but looked brand new and unused when it was removed from the box so I am delighted with my choice and the reduced price I paid. Only downside is a lot of it is plastic whereas my old Dyson had more metal in it for durability but you can't have everything!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

This vacuum cleaner arrived in an 'as new' condition, and I feel confident that it is going to last me for many years. I'm glad that it came with a 2 year guarantee, but I don't think I'll be needing to use it. The Vacuum is easy to use, and full of interesting features that make cleaning very easy. Grate machine
Arrived before stated date which was good. Glad i made the decision to buy refurbished Dyson , im well pleased with my purchase. Easy to assemble and use great for doing stairs without having to carry the Hoover upstairs. Great price looks brand new. Glider with power.

A great easy to use lightweight hoover
As with all Dysons I have ever owned they are epic vacuum cleaners. Previously owned a DC01, DC05 & DC07 and each time they get better and better never had new always second hand. They are great to get parts for easy too maintain and this one has great design of roller ball! Another Dyson, last one lasted 10 years of heavy use! Overall, it's easy to use but only slight draw backs, we found, with this one is that its not as easy to remove handle and nozzle for use on those off floor places and where the attachments are kept on the side of the machine can be knocked off easily. Cleaning Power
This vacuum is powerful on both carpets and hard floors. It removed lots of ground in dirt and dust from my carpets that my previous cleaner left behind. Came with useful different tools for different types of cleaning. It is easy to use around the floors and easy to empty. I would say that it quite a heavy piece of equipment and not light to carry. Some frailer persons may have some difficulty carrying it up and down stairs. Better than dc40
This light ball is much quieter than the dc40 owned previously. Having a longer cord means less unplugging. It does seem easier to move across carpet and the channels at the front of the cleaner head allows small bits to get sucked up instead of being pushed along.
