    Great Product, easy to use

Love this, just perfect alongside my other Makita cases and all stack together. Bought an insert for my Impact Driver so really happy. Would be better if they had a handle on the side to be carried like a case though... :)

    Totally unfit for purpose!

These MakPac cases must be some sort of a practical joke with Makita - I can just picture the boardroom brainstorm meetings now, "let's save money designing cases for our tools and steal another company's (Tanos) totally inadequate design, stick a 'Makita' logo on it and sell it for a fortune", "our diehard Makita fans will love 'em" Well I don't! I bought this Type 2 for my Jigsaw £20+ then I bought the correct 'inner' £10+ which is basically one of those plastic trays that you find in a box of Milk Tray. But if you expect this Makpac & inner combo to keep your precious Makita Power Tool safe then think again because it is totally unfit for purpose - if you tip the box up or store it on its edge then whatever is inside will clatter around inside just as bad as having no box at all! I like the design of these boxes and the idea of them locking together - and maybe I am being unfair because I've only tried the one for a Jigsaw but when it comes to keeping my tools in great condition I much prefer the old 'blow-mold' boxes personally, I am feeling generous giving it 2 stars, only because they do look smart. Will I buy one for my Circular Saw and my Drills?? ...at these prices? Not if I can procure a blow-mold type no.

  • Excellent value for money

Good system for organising loose tools if you're moving them around regularly. The type 2 seems the perfect size for a small general tool kit. It's a lot easier to find things in this compared to canvas tool bag. The plastic latches feel a bit flimsy but they seem to do the job well. Good value for money compared to it's competitors.

  • Design great! Saving the planet .... not so good!

Obviously the box and filler was disowned for the jigsaw but with other fillers they can house drills, sanders etc! I also like the stacking system, a great idea! It just seems to me that it is a pity you cannot buy the tool and box at the same time? Certainly such a waste or world resources, packaging etc, which would not have to be used on purchase day!!!!

  • Does what it says !

What I wanted was a case to house my Makita Tyre Inflator, like the one that came with my Cordless Drill but I couldnt find one so contacted Makita Customer Services for advice. They recommended the Macpac 2 with an Insert Tray so I bought both. It is ok but the Macpac 2 is larger than really necessary and as you'd expect designed to be stacked which I didnt need either. It will do but a shame they didnt supply a Product Specific Case as they do with other products, this would have been more compact which would have been better.

  • Great Product

Great product of solid construction and easy to open and close. It provides good protection for my Makita Tool.

  • Smaller than the size 3

Amazing amount of space in this little one. Got room for the 10.8 volt drill, Impact driver and 4 batteries, and two chargers. Amazed it all fitted in here comfortably.

  • Mikita, quality design and build

Makpac cases come in four sizes and are interlocking to make storage and transport easy. The thin plastic inserts dedicated for different tools are generally unnecessary and waste a lot of space, however there are a set of trays which are ideal for screws, nails, etc. The catches can be quite stiff but this can easily be corrected with a bit of Vaseline or other lubricant.

  • Makita makpac type 2

Good strong box and easy to get the correct inlay for them, and they all stack and lock for easy transportation, well worth the money.

  • Terrible plastic catches

The catches on these boxes are awful - very stiff, they feel as if they could break at any moment. Better boxes are available at a similar price... I won't be buying these Makita boxes again.
