Very effective tree trimming tool
I had a similar product for a long time (Black & Decker), and needed a new one. This Fiskars model had been useful in trimming our large scrub oak both from the deck (horizontally) and from the ground (vertically.) The unit, when extended fully, still operates with stability. For small projects.
Lite duty item-there are a number of areas on the extendable handle that are weak. I found the alignment pin allows the cutting blade to turn-and the aluminum tubes come apart. In fact the saw and the last extension is still up in my tree as it came apart, and I have yet to figure out how I'm going to get it down. . Perhaps this is a good unit for very small projects, but for anything larger -3" and above I would go with a heavier unit. It did do the work I intended-then I tried to cut a 4" branch and this went sideways.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This is fantastic!
I ran out this morning with it and in two hours had already cut branches on 5 big oak trees.. The cutting blade is so well made that it takes little effort to cut. As my German Papa would say, let the tool do the work, and don’t muscle it. I cut several at full extension but most were at about 18’ extension. Make sure you plan your cut having cleared the space needed for the blade. I could buy 10+ of these for what a tree company would have charged me. I can wait to go out again. Darn rain! I’m 63 years old, crazy German American, lame, already had a heart attack, and this was a wonderful morning! My property had lost some of the estate look with all those droopy limbs. Gets the job done
Gets the job done. A bit heavier than the ones I have used previously, however by only a few ounces ... not pounds.
