Not worth the risk of the erroneous data...
I tested these side by side with my current One Touch Ultra 2 test strips. The readings were CONSISTENTLY higher than the One Touch test strips
.
I currently lowered my A1C from 11.3 to 6.9 in a three month period using my One Touch strips. If I went by the readings of the Unistrips, I would have consistently taken way more Insulin than was necessary.
Readings from the Unistrips were in a range of 25 to sometimes 85 points higher than the One Touch strips.
Being that I like to keep my readings in the 90 to 110 point range, seeing a reading of 180 to 200 would have prompted me to take too much Insulin to get to my "normal" reading. Consistently having low blood sugar can be as harmful as high blood sugar.
Based on my findings, I cannot, in good faith, recommend Unistrips as a valid replacement for One Touch Ultra 2 Test Strips
.
Monetarily they are a good bargain, but for practical applications of blood sugar monitoring, not so much! This my personal opinion based on 4 weeks of daily testing comparing the two brands of test strips (120 tests). All I can say is that if you find that they work for YOU, that's as good an endorsement as one can get. I, unfortunately cannot give that endorsement!!
