A lot of features/not so intuitive
I have used simple free photo editing software before. Mostly it was software from Canon camera/printer manufacturers. It was simple and limited in its features, but it was also very intuitive and easy to use. Elements is MUCH more powerful. This in itself will make it harder to learn. That is a given. However it is not as intuitive in its arrangement. Setting up a way to email photos was not so simple using something other than Microsoft Outlook. I use Yahoo and found it difficult to import contacts without manually typing in each contact info. One real advantage is that a new user can start in a simpler and more limited mode, then advance through a guided, more powerful mode, on through a much more powerful and flexible custom and self guided mode. I am sure that I will like this software as I gain more experience. Additionally, the tutorials on the Adobe website are helpful, and the just released Elements 15 book from Adobe may help. I have been using the "for Dummies" book to get started.
