    Great tech

I ordered this product which is still a very high spec because I like the handwriting on the screen facility and it is really good. It has all the really good features of the Note range and they don't change much over the years. It is unlocked but it is linked with AT&T software but some of it is quite good. Check out drive mode. It did have a problem with the screen when I got it but I installed Google keyboard and did the screen calibration and removed that. I tweaked few other things but I think that was what it was after prayer. It has a good camera but obviously some dated features and an older version of Android which actually is less greedy on the memory. It has an American voice which I love. It does have an annoying voicemail notification you can't remove that comes up every time you reboot but a simple tweak of the applications to force of stop off the third phone application in the list resolves that each time you reboot. Otherwise a very good device very good screen quality very useful smartpen highly recommended. It's my second Note.

  • Most critical review

    Decent looking phone, faulty however.

The phone arrived on time and displayed some scratches and unpleasant signs of use. The charging port on the phone did not always work and so I was unable to charge the phone when I needed it. I would have to charge batteries and keep changing them to be able to use the phone effectively. The phone had to be returned as it wasn't feasible to keep an unlimited supply of charged batteries.

  • Samsung Galaxy Model 4

I replaced my much used Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with a new (stated not previously used Note 4) as I was not prepared to pay the large amount of cash necessary for current model 8. It naturally has the same pleasing features of the Note 3 but additionaly has a health checker with a pedometer that counts the number of footsteps I walk daily. It also features other health fitness counters that I will not probably use. Similarly I won't be using the fingerprint recognition feature as other reviews say it is problematic. I have noted that the battery appears smaller than the model 3 and the model 4 definitely runs out of power faster. But it does have a faster charge cycle, but clearly I will need to take my portable battery back with me on long journeys if I'm using internet on the move in buses or trains where power sockets are unavailable. One good reason that I chose this model is that the back of the phone is removable so one is able to buy and fit a replaceable battery oneself. All later models have the battery sealed into the phone for a technician's replacement only. It is a little larger than the model 3 but the larger screen has more pixels and is clearer for small print viewing. It comes pre-loaded with many APs that I will not use as I'm not interested in downloading music, films or playing games. The main feature of the Note model is the ability to handwrite notes using the stylus, but I'm disappointed to find the stylus sensitivity is less reliable than the model 3 and seems to produce more errors. It is impossible to handwrite accurately when the phone is handheld but requires standing on a firm surface to make handwriting feasible. My Note 3 was well used and was getting tired and froze during some web downloads but the Note 4 has a faster chip and quicker screen loading as a result. This unused, unsold old stock model can be bought from around £250 and represents a relatively high tech model smartphone at this price.

  • Yes and No.

I purchased this phone based on reviews and the fact that the battery was changeable. The phone is pretty much unmarked and in very good condition. The battery was flat but after charging it fired up and I had no problem inserting my Sim card and SD card which allowed me to have all my contacts and numbers. In the absence of any instructions I downloadd from the Samsung site the manual which saw me through.I have also fitted a protective cover and security glass screen. The battery is only good for a day on normal settings and use, but on ultra power saving can last 3 or four day.Overall I am pleased with the phone, but am bitterly disappointed to find that it is full of AT &T software. I can disable most of it but would love to remove it all. (This never appeared on the Advertising.) Would I buy again? Yes, but not from this source mainly because of AT & T.

  • fast and great features

It is very fast. Not only the phone has a big memory but you can also add an external sd card so you can never run out of space. great display for games and puzzles and reading and watching videos. I also like the fact that I can replace the battery and charge the battery separately. Of course you need to buy extra batter and charger but they are not expensive. The battery last quite a long time as well.

  • Still a great phone

Great phone. It may be a phone from the last decade but it's technology is very comparable to todays phones. Slightly larger outline for the screen size compared to today phones, but has a high capacity battery giving good use time and outstanding standby time ultra power saving mode. The phone is very well built, but remember it's not waterproof. An obvious plus on the phone is the built in stylus which is easy and convenient to use which is stored internal within the phone.

  • Phablet Note 4

With the Samsung Note 5 never launched in the UK and the 6 still not released I needed to replace my aged Note 3 with something. The Samsung 7 with its joke price and lower spec a non-starter I studied gmsarena intensively. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was still available if one hunted and it was a substantial improvement over the repeatedly dropped Note 3 that I had used for 3+ years. The removable 3200 battery and SDcard slot meant that Samsung was back on the credible list. The even higher res screen and upgraded camera enhance the already high quality Note3 to even greater heights with the Note4. The faster CPU and Graphics chips supported by more and faster Ram also boost the performance way beyond that which was capable by my Note3. Even better is the shape of the Note4. It is slightly taller and a little slimmer. This allows the fabulous device to be held more comfortably but keeping the huge pixel count of the gorgeous HD screen. With dealers clearing their stock and Samsung offering As New reconditioned and full warrantied Note 4 at roughly 35% of the original price these are a wonderful buy for the Phablet user.

  • A phone of Note

This may seem expensive vs the cheapie-Chinese phones of the same screen size, but as soon as you hold it you can see where the money has been spent. The stylus is a delight, the camera is astoundingly good (and I'm a photographer). The screen is an absolute corker; big, bright, sharp, evenly lit and has an anti-grease coating that means (like the lens's front element) that they stay unbelievably smear-free. The phone is fast and responsive, and this version is the one to go for. The 7 is outrageously expensive and you can't plug an SD card into the 5. What? Samsung lost its way with that decision. So get the 4, you'll love it and it'll make your iPhone friends' eyes pop out.

  • LOVE IT!

What can I say!.... great phone, great features. I looked at a number of phones before deciding on a Note 4. Granted there are some very good cheaper phones available, Huawei, LG and some other Samsung and also more prettier phones...if pretty is a concern...but at the price I got this I don't think the quality and features can be matched. The one I bought has 32gb internal storage..takes massive memory storage card....16mp camera and a decent processor....oh and a removable battery. As it happened this turned out to be quite important and one of the reasons I opted for this phone. The new battery that came with it turned out to be 'duff' and caused the phone to progressively 'trip out' to the point it wouldn't switch on.....new battery, no problems. (The cache and apps can also cause a similar problem on the Note 4) The phone arrived quickly in a new box with all the usual accessories. It was advertised as a new unlocked AT&T version which is no issue. It works perfectly well with a giffgaff sim (highly recommended) and all references to AT&T can be removed/deleted except the 'world AT&T logo' when the phone starts up from being switched fully off....not exactly a major issue in my book. For the money I paid I don't think it can be beaten for quality of features although there are good cheaper phones out there if storage and camera quality aren't too much of an issue. Would I like a S6/7 Edge trendy phone....yeah I wouldn't throw it back at you....would I want to pay that kinda money for one....nah!
