The silent wave motor (SWM) ensures fast, silent autofocusing. The 3 aspherical (AS) and extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements offers maximum contrast and minimal lens flare, a rounded 7 blade diaphragm ensures beautiful, natural background blur and internal focusing (IF). Superb lens
This is a tremendous lens. Such amazing value against the new price. It is in brand new condition and actually exceeds my expectations in regard to performance. Fantastic for wildlife photography, the vibration control is brilliant. I have no idea how it works but without it a tripod would be needed without doubt. See the wide angle vs zoomed photos.

Lens must be faulty as taken 1,000 shots with my Nikon D7100 Camera and never seen the sea and horizon BANANA SHAPED before.
All photos on my 10 year old Canon Powershot camera 100 times better quality than with my Nikon D7100 and this new 18-300mm lens. Taken a 1,000 shots on all settings Auto, Programmed, Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, Manual, Portrait Scene, Food Scene and quality awful. Very good for the price, versatile.
This lens is so versatile that I rarely change lenses anymore. Focus is fast, images are sharp, and it is a quality piece of engineering. It’s only drawback is weight, if you have a light SLR then the addition of a large lens makes it more front heavy but I like this as it makes the whole unit feel more robust and stable in use. This is a quality product. I’m no professional but get good results with this lens which I use instead of my 18-55mm and 70-300mm which I used previously.
