I had upgraded/rebuilt my PC, and wanted to install Windows 7, because I still feel it is the best O.S. that Microsoft ever made. Unfortunately getting a genuine useable copy is a "minefield", as the product key must be valid, and must match the installation disk. This key was from a scrapped computer, and the disk was good... it worked perfectly. After installing the system, I went into "Start/Computer/System Properties/Windows Activation", and activated online, with no problems. Subsequently, I can go to the same page, and see that Windows is activated, and see the product key...Job done!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Back from the dead

Windows 7 Install disk & product key.
With Microsoft set to stop supporting Win 7 Pro soon this was a godsend to me. Installed it on a clients Dell 1520 and it ran first time. One little quirk though - it has started asking them for a product key - which it came with and validated over the web when I installed it for them ('7601 error' anyone?) - so are Microsoft trying to crash peoples Win 7 PCs to make 'em buy Win 10? Other than this it DID install first time and it is, so they tell me, a damn sight better than the Vista install I replaced for them! 8/10 for price, performance & quality. But, Microsoft, PLEASE cure the horrible Explorer bug (I even get it on Windows 10!) that keeps stopping PCs with ;not responding'Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

It worked!!
worked beautifully with easy to understand instructions and allowed my PC to make necessary repairs concurrently (i.e. to media player which had corrupted). One caveat is you need a product ID to install permanently, usually printed on the base of the machine. I saved potentially over £100 in repair bills with this disc. Would you believe it!
I was very sceptical about this but was really fed up that my pc had a remote host as it often lost contact so thought I'd give this a go. Very easy to install although I did loose all my drivers and a friend had to help me with that, once that was sorted no problems at all and updated to Windows 10. RECLAIM WIN

Easy installation (relatively)
