Rootsy, Gutsy & Soulful
This is the original stripped down version of Give Out but Don't Give Up and is much more than a fitting companion piece to the original release of what was essentially a remix album back in 1994. As someone who actually rates the 1994 release, (though the production could be described as noisy and busy), here you actually can HEAR more. In my opinion, this p***es all over Screamadelica (very different albums admittedly) and has to rank as one of the best pieces of music Primal Scream have released. If you love the late 60s, early 70s Memphis sound and are an admirer of the Scream, you will love this. Still don't understand the mania for putting out double LPs with a single LP's worth of material. Playing at 45 rpm, I assume the quality is supposed to be better, but it means having to get up after 2 or if you're lucky 3 tracks. Or is it just a marketing ploy to get more money? Then again, it would probably have cost the same if a single LP.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
