A joy to look at and use

If it lasts as long as my Dualit toaster it will be excellent value - my toaster is 41 years old and as good as new! I love the classic style too.. an uncluttered statement piece and beautifully crafted/finished. On a practical level - It actually boils the water as opposed to bringing content 'to the boil'. The user guide is thorough and informative. The fact that it's repairable is excellent too. As a constructive comment I do find it difficult to see the cup water content indication possibly because my view is from a above as opposed to level with the indicator(?).

Beware - they come with UK electric plug!!!

We were surprised when our Dualit toaster & kettle arrived with UK plug still intact! Sold by Australian eBay ( middle man) to an Australian address & they don't issue a warning that it comes with U.K. electric plug still intact! Due to this we have not had a chance to use these items. They look fabulous & having read glowing product reviews, was looking forward to using these appliances! We now have to get an electrician to swap over the UK plug for an Aussie one!

  • Excellent purchase

This is just as expected in quality. Only down side is that the lid is a little tight when opening. Otherwise a beautiful fast boil and large capacity kettle.

  • Really, not that quiet... here's the science...

Sub story... I'm deaf in one ear after a rock concert a few years back. Ironically, being half-deaf is really noisy. I hear really loud, mid-level white noise constantly in my deaf ear. This has the weird effect of making my good ear really sensitive to other external forms of white noise (traffic, wind... kettles). We bought a Russell Hobbs kettle as it was cheap-ish and was "super quiet". Only it was really loud. All my family hate it so it's not just me. Lasted 2 years so just decided to upgrade for the best-of-the-best, the super-quiet Dualit. Roughly 5 time more expensive than the other kettle. Did the whole "It'll last, we make a lot of tea, it'll pay for itself really!" justification in my head. Just got the Dualit and thought I'd take advantage of having the old kettle side-by-side to do a sound test on each. bearing in mind we were also replacing the old kettle as it was just SO annoyingly loud... the Dualit was... noisier. Only just but no ware near being quiet, or in any way an upgrade in terms of noise. Dualit maxed out at 83db and averaged 80db. It had a lower peak frequency (a lower rumble) at 317hz Russell Hobbs maxed out at 82db and averaged 78db. It had a higher peak frequency (a higher rumble) at 431hz The amount of water was roughly the same (but not particularly accurately measured) at about half full. The boiling times were: Dualit: 120 seconds Russell Hobbs: 95 seconds So, according to kitchen science (aka a DB meter on my phone held 5cm away), the Dualit it's louder, more annoying, slower and 5 times more expensive. Having said that, it's nicer. So we're keeping it. Hope that helps. PS. Wear ear plugs at concerts. Seriously.

  • Fine but highly priced.

I bought it because of the quiet boil feature and, yes, it is relatively quiet but not all that quiet. However, overall I am satisfied that I made the right choice because I used to have to turn up the TV when boiling water in my last (Bosch) kettle.

  • A great buy

This kettle was bought as a replacement for dualit kettle which has always leaked at spout. This is robust and solid yet looks good. It is a bit heavier than my last one but not overly. Easy to read measurements. Lid a bit stiff to open but no doubt will slacken through use.I really like this kettle and it looks great alongside my dualit toaster. Many thanks.

  • A beautiful classic

Very pleased with the kettle. Boils quickly and fairly quietly. Looks great with the Dualit Classic toaster which I’ve had for 20 years. I’m confident it will stand the test of time the same. Don’t know how they’ve done it but it really doesn’t show any fingerprints on it.

  • Good kettle but not as quiet as expected

Well engineered and good looking. It’s heavier than others we have had. We bought as its supposed to be quiet boil. It still is quite noisy in an open plan kitchen/living room. Not so easy to see water level. Just glad we didn’t pay full retail price!

  • Worth investing in even though it's not cheap

A quality product as you would expect from Dualit. A pleasure to use. Love the wisper boil. So glad I didn't buy a cheaper inferior kettle. My Dualit toaster is now in its 22nd year!
