The chapters also unveil the innovative technique of the JSTARS, able to search and track all the targets in a 50.000 km² area and so inaugurating new tactics particularly effective in the counter-terrorism arena. Since its operational debut in 1991 during Desert Storm the E-8 demonstrated an impressive efficiency in all the combat theatres, from Iraq to Afghanistan and Syria.
