Sometimes when you can’t get off to sleep these can help. Not every time. I only take half and find this helps most of the time. They have got more expensive like everything else, but as you may not need these every day they can last you a good while. Get the stronger ones and break in half, they last twice as long. It works for me but Nytol is only intended as a short term treatment.
The chemical version of Nytol worked for me when the herbal version didn't. But the active ingredient becomes less effective and the potential for side effects increases with prolonged use so it is only a short term treatment. The advice is to see a doctor if the problem returns after the 20 pills have been used. But my doctor isn't helpful which is why I tried Nytol. The same active ingredient is used in some allergy treatments which can be considerably cheaper. In that respect I think Nytol is expensive.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A good product for relief from bad sleep patterns
I don't sleep well and after a particularly bad night I'll take a Nytol the next night to ensure I sleep through. I've used these for some years and it's good to know I can rely on them. Gets me to sleep for a short time but consequences are not worth it
I recently suffered an extreme bout of insomnia for a period of a few weeks and so bought these among other sleeping tablets to try. I did sleep intermitently for a few hours but was still awake more than sleep and did not feel rested. The following morning after taking them i felt terrible both times, really groggy, brain like mud and i wouldnt have felt safe to drive. Nytol sleeping tablets, not herbal
I work 13 hour night shifts, my sleeping pattern is terrible especially when at home on my nights off, also I suffer with arthritis & cervical spondylitis, this also makes getting off to sleep hard ( pain and restless legs ) these tablets are amazing, they work, a decent sleep in months.
