  • Yellow YB14L-A2 Motobatt sealed motorbike battery

Really great batteries, have put one on a Honda 250, some 3 years ago. Starts well after being left sat outside for 3 months in winter. This one is on a Honda Cx500, and gives instant starting with the extra power., compared with the brand new lead acid battery that came with the bike. Some reviews seem to have had problems with these batteries left on constant chargers. These batteries hold a charge so well, it would seem inapropriate to consider leaving them on any sort of charger. Having poured acid into the previous batteries, and found the smallest acid spill burns a hole straight through clothes, it seems so much safer to have a fully sealed battery. The terminals are perfect, being double negative and double positive and come with allen key and screws supplied. These batteries are not light weight, but feel solid and inspire confidence they will last well.

  • I was sceptical, but ...

I needed a new battery and after many Yuasa replacements over the decades I decided to give the Motobatt a try. I liked the idea of higher CCA than the Yuasa, and no maintenance appealed too. I was sceptical that there would be any benefit over a Yuasa battery, but I took the plunge. I haven't been disappointed. The battery kicks my 38 year old GS1000 into life easily and takes a very healthy charge from the alternator. Its higher output than the Yuasa original fitment helps power accessories such as daytime lamps and heated grips. Downsides. Not much really - it's very tight in the original battery box, so much so that I don't know how easy it will be to remove when necessary. The terminals are great with loads of configuration choice, but if like me you have slightly larger cable lug connectors the seat can be a tight fit above the battery. I had to pare down the rubber sheath on the positive cable to allow it to cover the terminal (some MoT testers are very hot on this). Other users might not experience these minor problems. Overall, I would thoroughly recommend this battery with its higher output and lack of maintenance requirements.

  • Top quality AGM batteries.

I've bought these batteries for the last 6 or 7 years for all sorts of different bikes and thoroughly recommend them. They hold their charge for a long time and suit my multi bike garage where I may only use a particular bike once in a while ( blue skies, birds signing etc etc). I have not had to replace one yet so even the older ones are still good to go. I like the 4 post setup, meaning the main pos and neg connectors can stay connected and extras can be attached and detached to the other posts quickly and without fuss. They don't leak when tilted over and could be mounted on their side on a street special build but I would personally only ever use them the right way up but that's my choice. I like the fact you can mount them with or without the enclosed tray which means tools kits or other necessities can be carried under the seat. I prefer these Motobatts to the originals fitted by the manufacturers.

  • Robust and lusty performance

This is my second Motobatt yb14la2 replacement. The first lasted six years of daily use on my T300, 30000 miles commuting and holidays. It finally failed gracefully, struggling to start the bike because voltage dropped to 8v with the starter engaged. I think one of the cells failed but the others still good. So it would keep cranking but this is a bad thing on an early Hinckley bike, risking the sprag clutch. So I was very happy to go with another Motobatt

  • Excellent batteries!

With very few exceptions, MotoBatt batteries have always worked very well on my bikes and they are now my go-to brand.

  • Well worth paying a little extra

Motobatt batteries are great. I have them on my lawnmower and motorcycles. They sit for weeks unused but still start first time and they survive very cold winters without damage. Lead acids are cheaper, but if you buy cheap you'll buy twice! Expect at least 5 years life even if you abuse them. Well worth the extra few quid.

  • QUALITY = PERFORMANCE

The Motobatt battery range are the best QUALITY battery you can buy , I made the the mistake of being guided by Price and always looked for the cheepest , only to fit one to a Yamaha XJR1300 , which would crank , but not start , it would only start if it had been fully charged , I then fitted a MOTOBATT and that solved all the starting issues , perfect , and better warranty , thank you MOTOBATT for a quality product in these cheep price , cheep quality battleground .

  • Great replacement

Decided to replace the old yuasa battery on my 1992 Africa Twin with one of these. Excellent with dual poles, means the battery can sit either side to avoid wiring changes. Plenty of extra turning power so far

  • Quality battery

Top quality motorcycle battery with extra cranking power - ideal for those cold mornings. Comes with a two year guarantee if you register online. Only a little more than a cheap battery but so much better - invest a few quid more for a brilliant product.
