Pleased with the watch as it preforms all the functions I need when training and beats all the problems I had running with a mobile phone and a heart

I have had the watch for two weeks and so far I am pleased with the garmin 45.It has all the features I need for running and cycling. It is light weight and just about the right size for my wrist. The gps and heart rate monitors seem to be accurate. I have not used all the features on the watch and am still not used to the training plan side of garmin connect, how it operates. The negative side of the product are the small print which is hard to read when running and its relation to the training plan. Apart from these niggles I am pleased with the watch

  • Most critical review

Lots of functions but poor satellite signal reception

Good range of functions for runners, all you need for serious training and tracking. However, it takes far too long to get a satellite signal, in fact longer than my 10 year old previous forunner watch

  • Fantastic Garmin watch - perfect for smaller wrists

I have gone down from a Forerunner 235 to the Forerunner 45. I have tiny wrists and most watches are just too huge and bulky. The bigger watches also make pulling my sleeve up and down really difficult and they are too in the way for my everyday use. I like to wear my watch all day everyday - even washing up and gardening and this Forerunner 45 is perfect as it’s compact. It also has a lot of features and does everything that I need. I’m an active running club runner doing 5 to 10k races but I don’t need a watch that is overly technical - Heart rate, GPS, workouts, steps, distance, maps and lots more and syncing with my iPhone and the Garmin app is perfect and some other handy features like assistance (a text message to a nominated contact with location details) this is a feature that will be great but I hope not to use it! So I’m very pleased with a great simple, elegant and comfortable watch for my Parkruns, cross country and a few 5 to 10k races at a good realistic price

  • A good HR & GPS Watch

Been through a few HR&GPS Watches and so for - after a little under a month - this one is the best so far. Quite familiar with the companion app which captures plenty of useful data. The watch itself takes a little getting used to, but this might just be the transfer from one brand to the next. The widgets available are great, the customisation options are also good. The HR monitor seems to be accurate - standard for Garmin. The activity tracker and GPS tracking during activity is yet to be tested (injury) but given this is a Garmin product I would presume the GPS at least is as accurate as a GPS watch could get. Watch strap 'feels' a little lightweight and I can't seem to find a replacement but it's last a few nights sleep and I don't sleep still so not much to complain about there either. All in all very happy with the product hopefully it's longevity matches the rest of it's quality.

  • Great entry level Fitness Watch!

You can spend as much as you like on GPS and Fitness watches and I’ve always used Strava on my Phone when out for a run or cycle but decided to take the plunge on an entry level GPS watch. The Forerunner 45 hasn’t disappointed at all, really pleased with all the functionality, it’s easy to track runs, cycles or other workouts including Yoga. The Garmin app works well with Strava and has some other useful insight such as Stress and Sleep, body battery. Quite frankly if you want to keep track of some standards metrics don’t spend any more than this!

  • All round fantastic activity watch

Well made, clear colour display, concise controls with decent side buttons, features are perfect for me, bike, walk and treadmill, additional features like hydration input, blood pressure numbers also beneficial. The app superb, is to use and appears to be accurate

  • Fantastic fitness and health tracker!

It’s one of the cheapest ones but has all the features I could possibly want including the Garmin fitness coach and customisable watch-faces. It even does perfect sleep tracking and 24h heart-rate and stress monitoring. The Garmin Connect app on iPhone is also very very good. Probably the best and prettiest I’ve seen. Sensors are the latest ones and the battery lasts about 5 days with moderate amounts of exercise. 5Stars! Well done Garmin!

  • Good features and design

Really lightweight and good at tracking activities and health. Garmin coach feature is useful for hitting training goals. I was worried it was going to be too big for my small wrist but it worked out fine.

  • better than expected

FOR A "BASE"level running watch it really is more than I expected and covers more than I need at a recreational runner level. I don't believe the wrist based HRM is as good as a chest strap but it is still a very useful tool ( you can pair an ANT HRM chest monitor to the watch if you feel the need) I would recommend this to any budding runner or even hiker/walker and gym users and together with the phone app, and Garmin Connect, it gives a great insight to your achievements

  • An Excellent Mid-Price Activity Tracker

Great all round tracker - quite accurate, heart rate and sleep are sometimes not quite right, but using this device with the garrmin connect app and strave is excelent
