Spike rocks!
The food is great because it can be given also to small hedgehogs who have no proper teeth if softened in warm liquid and mixed with some baby fruit or vegetable puree. It can be given with syringe that way if they are sick and have no apetite. On the other hand, for big ones it makes an excellent winter food because it hardly freezes. Comes in an easy to use & resealable bag to keep it nice & fresh. You can tell by the smell of this food that it is a really good quality food & the hedgehogs love it. I now have 4 coming to my garden for this food, it was originally only 3. If you put this food in a shallow dish ( plant pot saucers are good ) it makes it easier for them to eat, which means less/no waste .With this food you do have to make sure that the hedgehogs have access to plenty of fresh clean water, again which is best put in a shallow dish for them.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I've got numerous 'hogs that live in/visit my garden and they all devour kitten biscuits every night but I have one who is low on teeth! I saw her struggling to crunch the biscuits on the camera I've got set-up in the shed so thought I'd buy her some of these. Well, she, as the title of this review states, seemingly very much appreciates them as she finishes the bowl every night. None of the others touch it, they sniff it but leave it alone entirely so she has the bowl to her very self! Watching her chew them is very endearing and I feel very satisfied knowing all my spiky friends are fed well. Granted, these are more expensive gram for gram than the crunchy kitten biscuits I buy (probably than most kitten/cat biscuits on the market) but if it means she fills her tummy every night then I'm happy and more than willing to spend that bit more on her! Obviously I've no clue as to why she's lost her toofy-pegs but there's no obvious trauma around her jaw so as long as I can purchase these then she'll put on that vital weight for hibernation! The Best
I have an African Pygmy hedgehog and this is by far his favorite food. I know that this particular hedgehog food is for wild hedgehogs and is not marketed for pet hedgehogs but the little guy doesn't care. He loves it. However, I will switch to a different food for him because at times the postal system has refused to deliver this product to the U.S., which is not the fault of the seller. Hedgehogs love it!
My hedgehogs eat this all up every night. The dish is always empty and sometimes carried off halfway across the garden! They haven't always eaten all of the other hedgehog foods that I have put out for them. It seems to suit them well as I have found other food sometimes upsets their tummies where as this one doesn't. I soak it in hot water and let it cool before putting out for them and they seem to love it even more. I think it creates a smell that they detect and come out to find it. Hedgehogs young and old love it.....
