Good stereo
Bought this for my home theater setup. The sound quality is very good but it lacks in the mid range and sub arena for a booming theater experience. I ended up buying a Polk 10" powered sub and let it run into the 100mhz cross frequency to help boost the mids a bit. Now it is a great 5.1 surround sound system! Worth the money
I bought this as a replacement for a prior Onkyo home entertainment system. It is what I expected, not really any super up grades after about seven years. Great sound with great features
Onkyo home theater equipment is not new to me, before purchasing this unit I currently own HT-S9400THX and HT-S3900, so I'm not new to Onkyo. I've owned the THX system for 9 years now and have never had a problem with it. The HT-S3900 I purchased a year and a half ago and again no problems.
