Powerful battery hedgetrimmer
It's a powerful trimmer for a battery operated one, it's more capable of trimming than my previous cheap mains unit and there's no cable to get in the way or to slice through. It also appears to be able to tackle thicker stems than the old mains unit. The battery is long lasting, I only use it for small jobs 5 or 10 minutes at a time, but I've used it several times without recharging, though I would recommend removing the battery between uses. Another positive is that I have other Dewalt tools that use the same battery so I have more than one battery, that being the case I'm sure that with a couple of batteries that I could easily do 1 to 2 hours of trimming based on the use I've had. Very under powered.
the trimmer arrived and I was delighted, it looks good, feels good,well balanced and nice and light, I have a variety of hedges to test it on, so I began with a light Privet hedge, it struggled,very much it struggled. so much so that I fetched a little Bosch cordless ( with a upgraded battery but still only 14v) and whilst not quite as good came very close. needs a lot more power.compared to a cheap corded WORX machine it performed very poorly and matched against a old Mitsibushi a complete comparison. Amazing! Fantastic bit of kit!
Recently got rid of my noisy, leaky and heavy petrol hedge trimmer. Decided on the DeWalt 18V trimmer because I already had the combi drill to share batteries. The 5Ah battery had plenty enough power for cutting back 12ft conifers. It is so easy to handle and cuts through pretty much anything. Great hedge trimmer
I’m very pleased so far with this hedge trimmer. It’s well balanced not very loud and nice and sharp out of the box. I’ve used it twice on smallish hedges and it’s still on at least half its charged battery. It has cut through privit holly and hawthorn with no problems at all. It’s up there with all my Dewalt tools on build quality and does not disappoint. Dewalt Hedge Trimmer is excellent
I have long and tall hedges to my established plot. I hate hedge trimming as its hard work. My current hedge trimmer is a petrol unit that you can extend. O/K once it starts, but heavy going especially as I get older. My daughter purchased a DeWalt Hedge trimmer and said she could use it no problem. So with her recommendation I purchased a similar model. Sensible weight, well built, cuts everything I aim it at and without slowing up. 5AH battery supplied seems to go on and on. Dewalt hedge trimmer
This Dewalt hedge trimmer is so good as it works off the XR Batteries and therefore bought The brushless grasss stiimmer too. They are both good enough to use while my main sthil machines are being repaired. Just make sure you have 5ah battery with you as I've got a couple of 2 ah and charge on grass strimmer only last 10 mins but hedge trimmer last 17mins.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

POWERFUL AND CONVENIENT
A great piece of kit, surprisingly powerful and much more convenient than petrol. A little heavier than expected but fairly quiet with good battery life, especially when combined with the Dewalt strimmer battery.
