Best Bean to Cup coffee machine on the market.

We have one at work, I had one before but I needed to replace because it gets used so much we wore it out. It does great espresso and even Longo but I wouldn’t bother with cappuccino because setting up the steam and frothing the milk is too fussy. Small and compact, it fits on the kitchen work top and takes up a relatively small space. Coffee beans go in to the left hand hopper, the cups can be put on the right, on top of the heating bloc to warm, and coffee comes out of the height adjustable spouts in the centre feeding 1 or 2 cups. You can dial up the strength, and the temperature, the freshly ground beans give a superb flavour and the “creme” on the top of an espresso is sublime. The compacted coffee grains are easy to dispose of straight in to the compost or food recycling bin, minimum mess and most importantly, NO PLASTIC pods. The price has dropped considerably over the years, when I first bought one 5 years ago it was £400, this latest one was less than half of that. If it has a fault at all it is that you have to be careful to descale it regularly in hard water areas because the heating bloc will foul up if you don’t and that’s an expensive repair. It works great with syrups, I like Hazelnut or Vanilla and you can make a great Affogato by putting a shot of coffee over ice cream for desert, again I prefer it on a stracciatella. The old adage goes “So good I bought it twice” and I did.

  • Barista coffee at home.

I was given a second hand one of these about 4 years ago, it was old then. I hadn't had a coffee machine at home before as I'm a regular tea drinker but like an occasional latté when I'm out so that didn't value the machine highly until I made my first lattéat home. After a few trials and adjustments I managed to make a latté as good as any I'd paid up to £3 for and it's now a regular drink once or twice a day and my 'go to' drink for a travel mug. My old machine broke and I was disappointed as knew my friend had paid just short of £400 for this machine, so when I looked online to get a replacement I considered inferior machines in order to get something well below the £400 price tag I was expecting to pay for this one. I couldn't believe my luck when I found this refurbished machine for less than half price, direct from the manufacturer with a twelve month warranty. The machine when unpacked had the appearance of a brand new machine, with no obvious signs of use other than a few light scratches where cups have been dragged on the stainless steel plate under the coffee dispenser nozzles. I would say the only drawback is the time it takes to make the coffee. By the time the machine warms up, it can take up to 5 minutes to make a single cup of latté, 2 minutes of that time is steaming a half cup of milk up to temperature but this really does froth the milk superbly. If you're looking to get a coffee machine for less than £200, this should be your first choice. It's an excellent bean to cup machine that has the capacity to make a perfect cup of coffee every time.

  • Well proven reliability and ease of use.

These machines are bullet proof! I followed my usual practice of buying the most basic model - like most white goods, the more expensive versions still have the same base level innards but with lots of bells and whistles added. And it is these bits that will eventually fail! My last DeLonghi was 8 years old before it developed a leak - hence this replacement. But, unlike any other coffee machine brand, you can buy, at reasonable cost, all spare parts if desired. Highly recommended - and it is so easy to use and keep clean. And remember - bean coffee works out far cheaper than Nespresso type pods.

  • De Longhi bean to cup machine

Once the intense and sometimes misleading instructions have been absorbed you realise that making an excellent cup of coffee takes only 2 button pushes. The second cup made is free of the new machine plastic taste so from there on in it’s just a case of tuning it to your individual taste. It is the most excellent value for money, we have used Lidl and ALDI espresso machines over the last decade which have all made great coffee albeit requiring more attention in the process. Given that both those stores charge around £50 and require a coffee bean grinder for an espresso machine, then £167 for a no hassle bean to cup machine is great value. As for the so called blemish for a seconds machine we found it eventually, two areas of spots on the left hand side of the casing....... which you had to be really close (less than 500 mm) to see! Consider also the price these machines were when they first came out, in excess of £300 if I remember correctly! Now you have a much better machine (ie proven in long term use) for much less. For us the longevity is important, the average life of an ALDI/Lidl machine was 4 years plus. So now we have to see how this one last with our use......... Which is usually intense!

  • As good as any Delonghi coffee maker but at a lower price.

This uses the same infuser as other Delonghi machines and several other components are identical. I have had a Magnifica and prefer the simple controls on this one. It makes a large cup of coffee with ease. It is not easy to clean and maintain. Also in a busy household it will wear out after 3 to 4 years, but so will other machines. With any machine like this, the don't always expect coffee at the push if a button. You will have to refill the 1.7 litre water container often, empty the grounds about as often, replish the beans a little less often, and descale it occasionally. On average it seems to need attention about one cup in four. Any other make would be about the same. Overall I give it four stars.

  • Fantastic purchase

Amazing product! Bought it as refurb machine and the state of it was like never used before. Using it for a month now for 3-4 coffees per day and it makes it job. The crema of the coffee is just fantastic - I used the same coffee before in my old ''no name'' brand machine and it never was that nice/whit/creamy. Now practising art latte with the coffee and steamed milk. I would highly recommend this product from fantastic seller !!!

  • Happy Coffee Days

It’s my first bean to cup machine so I’ve nothing to compare it to, but it works an absolute treat. So easy to set up and use, even for me. The one and only drawback is the coffee is not piping hot, I zap it in the microwave after adding cold milk. If using the milk frother it’ll be nice and hot though
