6 month lab/pit misbehaving
We tried this on ourselves first in intervals of 10 all the way up to 100 to determine what would work best for her, and learned 35 was the lowest that she could actually even feel so that's what was decided to use. It works well for little things like digging in garbage or nonstop barking for no reason. I can actually get away with just the vibrate option. But once she's worked up and a stranger is near, or if she decides to run out of the yard, even a shock at 100% does nothing. When her adrenaline is up, it's basically useless. I have to do it several times in a row to even get her attention enough and she'll just scratch at it. The only unit faulty downside is that it doesn't always make contact with her skin depending on how she's moving or bending...and it has to make contact at two points in order to shock. It needs constant readjustment. It works well, my dog just has a high pain tolerance and even higher desire to be bad lol.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not as good as the previous model.
This product works as advertised & the price / shipping were a great deal! I owned a previous model made by the same manufacturer. The previous model had an ON/OFF button and an easy use charging plug on the collar receiver. The new collar receiver does not have an ON/OFF button and according to the directions goes to standby mode after 4 minutes of non use. The charging plug is in a hard to access side of the collar tucked behind the strap. The charging plug and the reset plug are identical and it is easy to plug the charger into the reset button by mistake. The previous model had a trim-able sturdy heavy plastic strap to secure the collar receiver. The new model has a vinyl adjustable strap with a snap catch. The vinyl strap can fit through side mounts on the collar. Unfortunately my Boston Terrier neck size requires the strap to be adjusted to a smaller size and a double strap needs to be able to fit through the plastic guide, but only one does. A rubber band is needed to keep the extra loop in place, otherwise it will come out of position and the collar will sag losing effectiveness with the dog.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Collar too big
The collar is for a large dog, shortened to the stops it is still a bit loose for my medium size dog. I didn’t see a size on the order sheet, tho there might have been. All in all it works great on vibrate. Gizmo doesn’t like it an pays attention. Thanks.. WmVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

great features
Had one for years and it finally wore out. Actually the charging port messed up. Love the adjustments on it. Did try one that was more money from a local pet store what a joke that was took it back two weeks latter. If you want more bang for your money than this one is a great purchase. Even the tone on this gets his attension when his nose takes over. I have a beagle shar pie mix more beagle than shar pie. We can keep our puppy!!
We got our medium sized Goldendoodle when he was 6 months old. We were warned about his "shoe addiction" when we got him, but never realized what it would take to break him! In a house with 4 kids there are always plenty of shoes left out and if not he searches under beds and in closets! He has chewed up half a dozen muzzles and this collar was the last resort. Works as described but not that effectively for my dog.
The collar is is actually very good and works exactly as described. It's good that it has sound, vibration, and shock. It charges well and holds a charge. I was mostly interested in it for walks and focusing my dogs attention on me and off of other dogs. She has a tendency to be aggressive and if another dog is also aggressive, she can't walk by without hurling insults and lunging on the leash. However, I found that a can of compressed air works much better on Roxy, than this collar. It has sound, feel, and even a bad smell that totally gets her attention on me as we "hurry by". She responds much quicker and totally to the compressed air than to any of the collar modes which usually required me to press the launch button twice to send.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Worked instantly
My dog barks at anything that moves outside our gates. The petrainer stops him instantly and I just use the beep mode. Best thing i ever got for my American Bully
Don't get me wrong, i love my dogs to death and i mean it when i say that..i would take a bullet for them and i am pretty sure they would do the same for me. But here is the thing, Too much love and little training can spoil your dog. I know its my fault that i didn't spend 4-6 hours a day training my dog and instead i went to work so i can feed them and myself and have a roof over our head. So anyways, i decided to train my bully and he is the cutest mofo ever but being a puppy he is waaaaaaay too distracted all the time. Inside the house, he is a very good boy except sometimes when he hears some noises and thinks some aliens are invading our house or something. So to train him outside i needed to get this collar and i do NOT use the shock mode except when he goes apeshit when he see's other dogs. yes i know my fault for not socializing him enough. He has a big brother an English mastiff and people are intimidated by his size and cross the street or walk in opposite direction from us when we go out so i gave up on that. Didn't wanted to beg everyone who came across to come meet my dogs. So yeah, this collar works exactly as described here and it has four modes, Light, Beep, Vibrate and Shock. I tested all four and the shock mode on myself from 001 to 100 and i high doubt i will ever go past 001 level on the shock and for Vibrate mode my dog response at level 010 so find what works best for you. I think the product itself is great and the price is a lot cheaper than compared to amazon or local pet stores. Easy and Effective
