We will have to wait and see
The 10 year battery life claim is very bold. The previous one didn't last anything like that. If this one falls short I will not buy another one from the same company. And that is why the title of the review has been chosen. The product works, looks good, and fitted on the same backing plate as the previous one. So fitting was very easy. The best I have used
I have used these and fitted some for others because I trust them. They are good at ignoring nuisance alarms like the toast burning but are sensitive to any real threat. Only downside which is why I rated only four stars is the battery life. I haven't known one to reach the claimed 10 year battery life without the low battery warning 'chirping.' Never had a problem with these and lasting around 10 years you have safety without worry.
