Amateur slow-food home chef here. I researched copper cookware sets for a LONG time and thought this was the best value. I'd love a French set but can't justify dropping over $1000 on cookware. The hammered Lagostino is absolutely GORGEOUS while using or as it hangs from a rack in the kitchen. If you're going to upgrade from teflon to stainless & copper, please educate yourself on the maintenance and use of copper cookware. You can't abuse it and it needs polishing from time to time. Use Barkeepers Friend and a non-scratching cloth. When cooking, you need to heat the pan properly, THEN add your oil/butter, let that warm properly, THEN add your food. Don't overdo the heat, as copper distributes heat more efficiently and there's a slight learning curve. Currently using glass-top stove but switching to gas very soon. Can't wait!!!
