Clear Winner
I used this clear coat lacquer on a custom paint job on my motorcycle petrol tank and side panels. the side panel had graphics on them and this lacquer covered them well, leaving a good deep coat {after three coats} that have hardened well over the last week or so. I will only buff them up after the recommended two weeks hardening time is up. The sprayed both red and black colours on the petrol tank in cafe racer style {Red Tank, Black racing stripes}. After feathering these colours in I used the clear lacquer to cover an seal the tank, the finish has come out to a professional finish, still waiting for the final hardening cure to set in, but have no doubt the petrol tank will look as well as the side panels. I would highly recommend this clear lacquer for use on petrol tanks as it has done a great job on mine, well please with this product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

petrol resistant laquer
FRUSTRATING! Bought this to laquer bike petrol tank. (as it says on the tin) On reading the small print it says allow at least 2 weeks to fully harden,a bit long I thought but there was no rush. Covers reasonably well and encountered worse coverage with other products. Now the bad bit. One month later I was doing the final flat off/buff up and so far so good. However,after doing one side of the bike tank I noticed lots of small marks on top of it which was the imprint of the hair on my arm resting on the tank. IT WAS STILL SOFT! Even the beading from the seat cover has left a clear mark in the laquer. Oddly,its come up a treat,nice and shiny but I can still gently press my thumb nail into it and it leaves a mark,also it scratches very easily so back to square one. It is fair to mention the marks/scratches T-cut out but its very easy to mark it again. Leaves a decent finish for a rattle can but soft as putty a month later. Avoid at all costs if you need to do the job quick.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Gives a deep glossy finish
Gives a really deep gloss shine to paintwork. I used it over a candy metallic red, and wasn't sure about flatting the paint down before applying the lacquer (the instructions on the can tell you to do this), as on the internet most folk seem to say NOT to flat down metallic paint. After three weeks, the finish is still not really hard, masking tape marks it, so I doubt if it will really be petrol resistant, certainly safer than 2 pack, but definitely not as tough.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

terrible
after having my tank prepared i applied the clear coat as stated on the can unfortunately not inly does it not resist fuel the rain made it turn foggy and absolutely destroyed my tank costing me more money to put it right iv had years of experience spray painting but this stuff is up there with pound shop Christmas tree paint avoid! after buying a branded version the problem was solvedVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

A lot of spitting
This Lacquer spits, I followed all the instructions and still just kept spitting.
