endless hours of retro gaming fun
I'm having a great time playing all my old favorites and a few I never got to as a kid. This cute little device is put together well and seems like high quality parts. I have some issues with the controllers reading my directions wrong but I'm honestly not sure if its the controllers themselves, or the old games. The RetroPie interface took some figuring out. Getting games onto the device was easy enough but it took me forever to get a straight answer on how to apply cheat codes. Google will be your friend for any advanced settings. A lot of fun!
I am not very tech savvy with these things, so this bundle was helpful (since a lot of the software is pre-loaded with it). I did have some issues getting the sound to work with the HDMI connection, but after some internet searching, I was able to resolve the issues on my own. I also wish the controllers were of slightly higher quality. They do the trick, but do seem a little flimsy. I am really just nitpicking now, though... Great for an intermediate learner
I have thoroughly enjoyed learning and using my raspberry pi. From emulation and streaming, to basic pc tasks these units can provide hours of entertainment. I must say, I have worked on computers for some time, these require a little bit more of knowledge then a standard windows pc. Be prepared to learn! Once you get through the learning curve, these are really great. I also recommend using a program like hiren's boot cd, and making a copy of your drive every so often. SO MUCH better than the classic!
Love, love, love this machine. Everything is taken care of, just add ROMs! So far we have over 1500 NES and SNES titles on it, plan to add Atari soon and pick up some usb joysticks for an authentic experience. Emulation fun!
The setup is super easy, the package comes with everything you need. The controllers aren't the best, but they actually do great for 2D games. Kodi works well, but I think it works better on other android boxes that I've seen.
