If you can afford it, you should definately buy one.
The only disappointment I have about buying a Roomba 980 is that I didn't buy one sooner!
Having read lots of reviews, before finally spending the money on one, I was not completely sure how good it would be at carrying out its function but any fears were eradicated after its first use. I currently have a mixture of wooden, tiled and low pile carpeted rooms and there was no problem in any of them.
I was especially sceptical about buying an iRobot vacuum as my brother has had an early version for years which they do not rate, especially when tackling Dog hair, but the 980 is a new breed of vacuum, although admittedly I do not have a Dog so I can’t comment on how good or bad it is when tackling Dog hair but I can say it has no problem with human hair.
Of course there are intricate corners etc in a room where the Roomba does not quite cover every millimetre of floor space, but what is left after the Roomba has finished cleaning is really not worth mentioning; and nothing that 2 seconds with a piece of kitchen paper wont sort out.
No longer does the Couch or Bed have to be moved in order to vacuum underneath (assuming you have the clearance underneath them). On the first cleaning after purchasing a Roomba 980 you will be amazed at just how much dirt you had been missing with your conventional Vacuum cleaner.
In fact the only job you have to do is to make a clear path for the Roomba to get around.
Yes it is expensive, yes you still have to vacuum your stairs by some other means but, speaking as someone who hates mundane tasks like vacuuming, I can happily put up with cleaning the stairs while the Roomba takes care of the rest.
So, in short, I will finish this review the way I started by stating that: The only disappointment I have about buying a Roomba 980 is that I didn't buy one sooner!
Thanks for reading.
