Good basic flatbed scanner
I bought the V19 as a manufacturer refurbished unit. It has the same 1-year warranty as a new scanner and it sure looked factory-fresh when I opened the box. The V19 works as advertised. Scan quality and speed are comparable to other flatbed scanners. I like that it can stand on edge to save space and the cover can be removed for thick materials. I primarily use linux and Epson provides basic functional scanning software. However, you will need to do some investigating to make it work under linux. On the other hand, installing on windows is dead simple. Since the V19 is powered through the USB cable, you will likely need to plug it directly into your computer. It would not work for me through a USB splitter. Also, whenever your computer is "on" the scanner is "on." The blue pilot light is illuminated whether or not I am using the scanner. For some reason, this bothers me, so I just unplug the USB cable when I'm not scanning, which is most of the time. I recommend this scanner for everyone. Good Scanner, not ready for Windows 10 out of the box
Scanner so far is good. Scans quick, images look good, and it is nice that it doesn't need an external power adapter. Software included only covers up to Windows 8. You'll need to sort through the Epson website to find the correct driver and software for Windows 10. Even after downloading the correct and most current software on their site, it had to update to a newer version when I opened it. Not really a big deal, but a little annoying. If a person weren't very tech savvy, they would probably just assume that the device was broken since the software installed "correctly" but just the scanner didn't function with it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Works Fine,small size to fit on shelf
This is an older model but Epson still has software that works with my new Apple Mini.I already had a Canon,but no longer supported by Canon and would have to pay $50 for 3rd party software to use.I'm not using for critical pictures,so OK for my uses.Fast enough scanning.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Good scanner, after installation and user's guide was obtained...
This V19 seems to be working OK - The included CD was useless for set up. There was a need to go online to the website for all drivers and installation. The user's guide that was also available online - sure does help. I am now satisfied at this point in time.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Gets the job done

Worth the Price
I was looking for an inexpensive scanner that made pretty good scans, and this one excels! It's fast, with very accurate colors. It was extremely easy to set-up, and takes very little desk space. The easel on the back makes it even more compact. The price was pretty good to begin with, but I got this refurbished one for half the price from the Epson Outlet store on eBay. Excellent scanner with low-profile form factor

Great flatbed scanner
Got this to replace an old and bulkier Epson scanner I had for years but was not Win7 compatible. Got a great price for a refurbished unit.
