    Excellent inexpensive BD pad

    I’ve had many of the Roland KD models. This is the best one yet. It’s stable, responsive, and substantial enough not to rock around too much. The tilting pedal mount allows the pedal and pad to both sit level on the floor for stability. I’ve heard about issues with the foam pad inside disintegrating, but so far so good- and I believe you can get replacements from Roland. Great pad for a great price.

    Not a good double pedal unit.

    I purchased this KD-9 Kick Drum specifically for the use of double bass pedals. It was reported to work well with double pedals, but it is actually designed for just one pedal. It will work somewhat, but without the pedal contacts impacting the exact center of the pad it has a diminished sound response. I was disappointed in the performance that I intended the unit for. It will, however, perform very well for a single bass pedal.
