I have found that fly sprays only last for a short time on my pony so was looking for something which lasted and did a good job, I heard about Battles Summer Fly Cream and bought it but then read that it was for sheep but could be used on horses wounds which simply wasn't what I needed. I was worried it may be to strong. Anyway having bought it and leaving it on a shelf with my pony still being bitten to smithereens I decided to try it and it worked wonders. I don't smother him as that wouldn't be economical but I rub small amounts over him and the flys stay away. the best area which really shows up how good this stuff is, is in his groin. He has no tail as he was attacked so has no tail to swish and he would be bitten by fly's sufficient to make blood drip down his legs but since using this stuff he is comfortable no scabs and no blood. I will always be buying this from now on. You must wear gloves as you will be yellow when you finish with it. it isn't best on white areas of your horse/pony as it stains badly but as I say it really works. It does a brilliant job and I wont be without it now. Others in the stable have started using it since they have seen how it has worked on my pony. Best product for fly prevention and treatment of bites
