Does just what it says on the package:love it, paints up really well too.

Improved packaging means product is easier to handle and store during use: does not dry out before sculpting. Oder free and not sticking to fingers much, smooth surfaces can be easily achieved with a wet finger. Great results creating stone effect on a cardboard armature I am making of a medieval castle for my Grandsons.

    Modeling clay

It was my 1st time working with this type of clay and quite frankly I found it rather hard to work with. Not much info for this product on what you can and should do with it but I found it can not be knead as it is just a paper paste. Have tried oven cure clays before and they are much easier to use.

  • A little disappointed

This is the first time I have used this clay, gave it 4 stars as it is not as easy to use in the way I wanted, having watched several you tube videos it fell somewhat short of my expectations. it is not as smooth as I expected and makes cutting shapes with cutters a bit raggedy on the edges. Secondly I am finding that although very dry now the paints are not coming out true to colour when painting on and drying much darker, blending colours on the painting surface is not easy nor getting good results. I finally under coated the piece with white to try and eliminate this, it helped but not too much. Otherwise I did enjoy modelling with it and it holds its shape well. All that being said as I said in the beginning this is the first time using this clay.

  • Great

I've been wanting to try this for a while, decided to buy a pack to try it out and had loads of fun with my daughter making all sorts! Very good quality clay, easy to use and doesn't dry out too fast. I did think it would be whiter in colour but thats not a major issue as we can just paint our models. We did end up with a few cracks in our work which was disappointing but overall we were happy with the product and i would buy it again.

  • hobby clay

I have tried a couple of different makes of modelling clay and in my opinion this is the best...others seem to crack when drying where this does not....very easy on the hands very pliable....quick tip once opened re-seal in a sandwich bag and give quick squirt of water just to be sure of no drying when not in use

Good Stuff! I've used this before so knew what to expect. For anyone coming to it for the first time, you have to work it with your fingers first to soften it and make it more pliable. Add a little water if too dry. I bought this to create some Christmas tree decorations with my nephew. Once dry we were able to paint the clay decorations. I used hair grips as the hook to thread twine through and moulded the clay around them.

  • The best!

I bought 3! I love clay, but since finishing school I don't have regular access to ceramic apparatus. No kiln. I finally bought some of this. It's not at all like clay clay, it dries quickly, and doesn't work the same. The water either sits on top, or absorbs quickly, keeping a sort of 'skin' at all times. So it creases easily. The fibres make the surface a bit difficult to smooth. But when it dries halfway, the surface can be smoothed easier. It air dries, takes at least 48 hours to become solid, then I coat it. Larger objects with thicker areas of clay retain moisture for longer, and need more time to dry. I make some of my items hollow, so that they dry quicker, save clay, and don't weigh too much. Solid through pieces would be stronger. It's good for making small objects with small details, appearance wise. It is easier to make larger objects- but the slight unevenness and imperfections are more obvious on larger surfaces between details. It's definitely fantastic quality, but make sure it will work for your project before buying it. Good for children and casual art projects. Not the same as ceramic, but more accessible.

  • modelling a 5 inch high mouse in Das clay

I fund this product fairly pleasant to handle , I used a stout cardboard centre core so that the model would be more economical to produce but it did not dry for three days .....even then , the base where it was sitting remained pliable for another 36 hours. When I came to refine the model with sandpaper and fine files it was ok but a bit fibrous. Also bits attached to the model as it was drying fell off . Having said all that I would use Das clay again but probably combine it with other materials eg. wax etc , but I will be using I again ,so not bad for a first attempt for you and me!
