I love this story, I saw it years ago on TV and hunted endlessly to find it on video or later DVD, I read the book trilogy and found it captivating, I love it because it was set in Scotland, it was a great piece of acting by well all the cast really but I especially like Peter Mullen, I have several of his films, but this one is the jewel in the crown, it's set in round about the my Grandad would have went to war & my great uncle Bobby worked in the local pit & he used to tell us all about his younger days so I could relate to the era this film was set inI would have loved to have lived in that era, but honestly I would urge everyone to get this film it is so well acted and you will enjoy it I promise you.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A fair effort, but could have been better.
This was quite a good version of Sunset Song, but not a patch on the original BBC TV series made in 1971. Like much Scottish drama these days, little attention is paid to local accents and dialects and Scotland would appear to be populated by Glaswegians!!
