I wasn't expecting something so simple to be very effective, but was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use and how clean my carpet looked afterwards. The whole thing felt flimsy.
Trigger temperamental, doesn't, hard to work, and hurts your finger, and it doesn't spread shampoo evenly. The tank cover where you put in the shampoo, is made of smooth plastic, which makes the screw slippery, and it is small and hard to grip. The handle pulls up out of the tank for use, and is supposed to be secured by another piece of smooth plastic, which tightens to keep the handle in place, but the handle kept slipping down into the tank, as again the plastic is too smooth to get a good grip.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice little lightweight carpet shampooer.
Excellent Ewbank shampooer is really lightweight and so very easy to use and set up too. The shampoo itself is so very good and smells nice cleans well. Just use your finger on the trigger to release the shampoo onto the carpet , use a forward and backward motion to shampoo the carpet-does not foam up too much as other shampoos do. Just let it stay on the carpet for as long as you think the stain on the carpet is a bad stain or a light stain-i normally give it 5-10 minutes to go into the carpet as it seems to lift the pile helping the shampoo to get in and do its work on the stain. You can see the difference when it starts to dry. This shampooer by Ewbank is so very good and maybe underestimated by the price? as the work that this is doing on your carpet is amaizing think this should be a little higher in price because it does such a great job. Have used the heavy motor powered shampooers over the years and found them too expensive and messy to use. This is ideal for doing your carpets whenever you get the urge to shampoo the stains away. Saves cluttering up the sink when cleaning those heavy electric expensive carpet cleaners afterwards.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good job from a basic and reasonably priced cleaner.
Usually we hire a carpet cleaner but had a few problems locating one for the day we wanted. decided to try the Ewbank out. It made a really good job of our carpet and, as easy to store in the loft, is there ready for the odd times we need to do more cleaning elsewhere in the house. The handle need tightening constantly so lever works and its very stiff to pull
The handle has to be screwed tight so the lever to release the shampoo works but it loosens while using and the handle needs constant tightening while in use, which is nuisance so although I'm keeping it I'm non too happy I had a Bex Bissel model previously and used for many years with no problems like this it's very hard to push around hard workVerified purchase: YesCondition: New
