    Great product with many features

Great product....just what I was looking for....another competitor product doesn’t have the features of this Garmin product/reputation. Takes a bit of time to fully understand and learn the product features...but once you do, you’ll love it

Slow to activate, really slow for me, like never

Didn’t like the slow speed. Didn’t like orange color, didn’t like plastic finish, felt cheap. Didn’t like the beeping sounds, also sounded cheap. Really wanted to like it since it cost so much, but it should work fast and make me happy. But it just made me regret my purchase the longer I tried to make it work.

  • Alright little pricey

Like the unit. Fairly easy to use. When I set up 3 instant messages made mistake and made me primary. Couldn’t figure out why I was receiving message meant for wife. Now I know why. Need to make her primary. I like not having tons of icons you don’t need or use. Keep it simple. Have a garmin 755 gps. I hate it. So much stuff on it I don’t need. Makes it hard to navigate through screes I don’t need. Felt like Inreach pricey. No one else really makes one to compete with it.

  • Worth Every Penny.

The only con, is that its not a user friendly usb drive type mapping GPS like the GPSMAP64. I will end up carrying it as well as my GPSMAP64 in the bush and mountains. As a Satellite text messenger, I find it to be the top of the line for features and reliability after studying and comparing it to the others on the market. Buy once, cry once. But it stands alone from smartphone which is a requirement in my situations. The Earthmate app that bluetooths to it is fantastic as well. That said, the maps it has are good enough for a tracking and rescue device and a general purpose wilderness gps. Second day Out of the box, wife drove off in the dark30 mountain canyons where cell phone will not work for a good hour. She had a flat, while I tracked her on the garmin explore site web interface. She was able to text me with iridium and i was able to locate her and launch a rescue/repair operation. It is now on its 4th day of use now and has gone from 100% battery to 80%. it runs about three hours + per day for the round trips in the canyons. We have ordered a second one so we can cut out the cell phone and wifi/cellular routines and go from inreach to inreach. It is a great tool to have and is well worth the cost and the time investment of learning to use it.

  • Great Product for hunting and overloading to keep the family informed.

So far so good. Battery life is a little misleading but if you tweak the settings you can stretch it out. the Garmin service is reasonable annually and the satellite comms capabilities has a pricing structure that is doable for most budgets and needs. The unit is robust and easy to use.

  • Serves it’s purpose.

It’s a little difficult to navigate, but I bought it more for the SOS feature. I have a better one for the gps part.

  • Iridium so so

Great unit overall. GPS works well with earthmate. Iridium takes forever to establish when you fly to a new location. Couldn't text (or use SOS if I needed to) for the first 26 hrs in central America. Almost threw it in a lake but then it established connection. Still slow but operable.

  • Great Product!!

It takes a little while to set this up but once you do it's a great product. I feel very certain that if I need help while out exploring I'll be able to get it. Also being able to use the Earthmate app is a great way to keep track of my progress.

  • A true life saver

Excellent piece of equipment. Would recommend product to all who love the great outdoors and then some. Smaller devices made by the same people also available. Find one to fit your lifestyle.

  • Handheld piece of mind while off grid

Whether your hiking, skiing, snow machining, 4 wheeling, boating, or camping; you always know where you are and can contact friends, family or S&R. Knowing that whatever trouble you find yourself in, can be mitigated makes the journey less worrisome.
