    Quick and easy to use

Great product and seems well made. Getting the batteries (which are supplied with it) in took moments and it was ready to go. It may take a couple of attempts to get it positioned correctly but this is very easy to do and once you get it in place it stays put. The laser can be seen clearly on the chain and again, moving its position didn't shift the tool at all. There is definitely cheaper ways of doing the job but this is by far the quickest and easiest method I have tried. Overall I would certainly recommend the it, it may be a one trick monkey but it’s a cool tool to have none the less.

    okay

its okay..you have to be carefull installing it or it wont sit right on the srocket and give a false reading..if it was made of steel or aluminum it would be much better and the batteries died about 2 minutes into using it..great name not so great execution..im a motorcycle technician with 50 years experience

  • Good idea for setting up your chain alignment, but not very well made. :-(

The idea of aligning your chain is great, but unfortunately this item is poor quality to provide the best accuracy, slightly overpriced for what it is, I would pay more for a better quality product.

  • Cheaply made and out of alignment.

The idea behind the device is a good one . However as an engineer would have expected better . Very poorly made with cheap parts . But more importantly, the laser was mounted out of square . The round body of laser sits into a channel. This wasn’t checked on assembly. The laser was held off square by a lump of plastic so it was twisted . I sorted issue out . But really . You shouldn’t have to true up a device meant for trueing up a chain …..

  • Simple and straight forward

Just clamp onto the rear sprocket, and shine the laser pointer up and down the chain. Couldn't be much simpler. Presumably the further up you can point it the more accurate it'll be. I had to remove my chain guard on my 2007 ZX6R but that's easily done.

  • very easy to use

Simple & easy process to ensure the front & rear wheels are aligned (as well as the sprockets & chain). I used it with the chain monkey at the same time. Basically attached the chain monkey to the chain & the laser monkey on the top of the sprocket. I then adjusted the rear wheel until the chain was at the right tension and the laser pointed at the centre of the chain links from the rear sprocket to the front sprocket. Tighten the rear axle and the job's done.

  • Seems to work reasonably well but if you...

Seems to work reasonably well but if you don't get it perfect on the sprocket it can throw your adjustment out also it's very flexible in it's joints allowing the laser to move. Only constructive criticism will give positive feedback for innovation.

  • I don't do bad reviews, however...

I was excited by the idea that I could quickly and accurately align my superbike chain, unfortunately I was disappointed to find that the laser wasn't straight. When I set it in the middle of the chain the wheel was miles off centre. You can see in the images below that it is off centre on my spirit level. If you set your chain with it? Sorry people.

  • Glad I bought it. Not disappointed.

Makes lining up belt on a Harley dyna child’s play. Good tool. Quality defiantly plasticky so don’t drop on stand on it. Works well easy to use.

  • Good tool(ish).

The tool when mounted could not be lined up with the chains closest point.Further investigation found that the laser was not lined up at 90deg.to the clamp.Easily remedied with a small flat file on the diametrically opposite mounting flat pieces that touch the sprocket.Remember some sprockets are a little offset as on my Suzuki,so factor that when you are lining it up.Works perfectly now.Tip,when checking the laser alignment, clamp it to an aluminium spirit level ,they are perfectly straight.
