Very Dissapointing Defect Item
I bought this device to record interviews that I have to do for my research. The device can be used to record voice, but unfortunately, once I connect it to a computer, the computer cannot read the device. A notification says that ''it is not accessible'' and ''the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable''. I found this very annoying because I really need to transcribe the interview that I have done for about 1,5 hour. To do that I have to copy the recording files to a computer first. I have tried to connect the device to three different computers but same thing happens. Now I'm suffering a lot not only because I lost my money for buying this rubbish item, but I also lost my valuable data (the data became useless because I cannot transfer it to a computer)! Compact & works OK, but may need a UK phone plug adaptor before using it.

Not suitable for UK phonelines
Whilst the device is low cost and works audibly as a stand alone recorder with the microphone, it is also stated for use to record telephone conversations using the adapter provided. It will NOT record from the phone in the UK -it is NOT suitable for UK phonelines. It just records loud buzzing sound and no audio. Small but a god unit
The recorder arrived in two days as promised. Having seen the pictures on the website I was extremely surprised and initially somewhat disappointed upon opening the package and seeing how small it was. However after making a few test recordings I was greatly impressed by the recording quality and for the price....... So much so that I demonstrated it at the Wilmslow Guild Audio Visual Group meeting and also at the Great Yorkshire AV Day in Leeds - I think you can expect many more sales of this product. My only criticism would be on the size of the printed instructions - these are very small and quite difficult to read....also I have not as yet managed to get the recording time to work....but that isn't really a problem. Not easy to work I've been completely unsuccessful with it

Digital Voice Recorder.
Completely useless instructions. Not clear at all. I don't have the time to play around figuring out how to use it. It does work as accidentally I recorded myself saying, "Waste of money, complete waste of money ...useless instructions." But I don't know what I did to record and playback. I have no idea how to use this and I needed it urgently. Delivery was speedy but a waste of money as I can't use it. I can't figure out exactly how the functions work. Economical and durable.
I base my comments on the first of these that I bought. It served me daily for over four years, until I somehow lost it. Thats been something of a tragedy as it had been with me through so many amazing experiences, recording many personally important meetings. This one I have just bought as a replacement. Without the prvious to make a direct comparison I cant be sure, but it seems a bit thicker (front to back) and although the display is the same the interface on it is much more clearly organised. I hope it will be as good as the one it replaces. There was only one criticism I had of the previous example: I couldnt understand how to turn off the VOR, so on long recordings it would sometimes have missing moments where it had stopped automatically during quiet bits and missed the very next sound when it started.
