Should have bought one years ago!
We really like it. I have a dog with long hair (Golden Retriever) and was wondering if the hair would cause a problem, but that was not an issue. But sometimes it would gets hung up on my recliner, and this morning it emptied its dust collector 2 times within 10 mins after starting. 4 days ago, after it vacuumed the last time, I made sure the dust bag in the bin was not full, which there was lots of room, yet. I guess it just takes getting used to. It is also nice that I can control with my android cell phone, outside its weekly schedule that I programed what days and start times, to vacuum. Robot vacuum made chore harder, not easier
I was very optimistic about a Roomba model with auto-dirt emptying - I thought the brand was a top performer. In actuality, the performance was awful - the vacuum kept on getting stuck - on the entrance to bathrooms, on 1” high piano bench legs - causing me to have to get up & clear the jam. Reliable iRobot Product-Middle of the Pack
Owned/used for 3 weeks. This is middle of the pack, it cleans reliably but does not have camera or sensors, just bump and go. Covers area, good suction. Had an error 14 issue initially with sensors on the units dust bin, but cleaned them off and reinstalled a couple times and no further issues so far. Skipped a couple rooms after initial "everywhere" clean, but just picked it up and let it loose and it was fine. Dust bin empty system works great, like that I don't have to clean and empty the units bit continuously as I did with the one I owned years ago. Checked the rollers today after 3-4 uses and they were clear, so no need to clean continuously like older models. 1 cat (hair problem is much reduced!), 1 human, lots of sewing and project stuff. Base sounds like a turbojet throttling for takeoff but good suction.
I named my robot Igor (picture Young Frankenstein) and for the most part he gets where he’s supposed to. Primarily I got this setup for collecting pet hair from my GSD/Collie mix (sheds enough fur to knit winter parkas for a whole village in the Arctic) and it does a fairly good job picking up the fur. Sweeping cylinders get tangled up but they are simple and user friendly to clean. Satisfied with its performance for its intended use at keeping the main floor generally clean while I’m at work.
